at 11 :45 a.m. in the Anderson Room of th e Englewood Publi c Library at the Engl ewood

V ice Cha ir Knoth stated that th e Minutes of March 10, 2011 w ere to be cons i de red for
approva l. It was determ in ed th ere was a quorum. Vice Chair Knoth asked if t h e r e were any
changes o r ad ju st m e nts to th e Minutes. Ther e were non e.

Members discussed var ious incentive id eas that were brought to the table. Those includ ed:
• Streamline app li cation process
• Need City liaison to ass i st app li cants through th e processes
• Give staff more leeway to make decisions
• Sales tax credits/rebates and incentives
• I ncent landowners to make deals to lease their property
• One day property showcase
• All City garage sale day with merchants offer in g discounts that day
• SK race
• Policy of City staff to never say no
• Large sign that promotes the City and events
• Business r etention program
• A certain number of professional jobs required for office u se on land
Ma y o r Woodwa rd suggested the retail survey presentation be g iv e n to the ACE g roup. Staff
w ill contact th e co nsultant to arrange a time.

IV. COMMENTS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Ms. Mello p rovided an update o n Chamber activity:
> The annua l Gala wi ll be held next Tuesday at the Elks Lodge.
> Thinkers and Drinkers wi ll be held next Thursday at Twin Dragon.
> The Student Recognition Luncheon wi ll be on May 4th.
> Working on a Duck Race for Education; raffle w ill benefit the schools.
> The annual Golf Tournament will be held on June 4t".
BID COMMENTS
Mr. Vasilas provided an update on BID activity:
> The Englewood Business Watch has been created 111 conjuncti o n with the
Police Department.
> The n ew website is up and running .
> New signage will be installed on both the south and north ends of th e BID.
> New brochu r es are being created.
> The Eats & Beats event w ill be held on Jun e 25th . Volunteers are needed.
