Meeting was called at the request of Mayor Frantz who asked the commission to reconsider
its recommendation on the width and alignment of Elati Street along the west side of the
Norgren property because of certain counter proposals made by Norgren.
Present were Guilford, Rea and Janssen of the commission, Mayor Frantz and Mayor Pro-Tern
Cushing , City Manager Flint and Mr. N. Norgren.
The following was agreed subject to concurrence of council:
1. The west curb to be on west property line of Elati St. beginning at a point about
235 feet north of the present north property line of Hampden and extending on this
line to a point opposite the northwest corner of west portion of building. A
minimum strip running between the two curb cuts of 12 feet measured between face of
curb and bumpers of cars in parking lot.
2. Curb spacing of west curb beginning at the north property line of Hampden and extending
to a point 43 feet north, to be 8 feet east of west property line of Elati then angle
westwardly to meet south end of curb in Paragraph 1 above.
3. Starting at north end of curb in Para graph 1 above, curb to angle eastward at the
same rate that it angles in Paragraph 2 above until it meets centerline of Floyd extended.
4. Curbing on east side to be set to give a full 44 foot roadway measured face to face
of curbing. All curbing vertical type.
5. Maximum of two curb cuts from Elati Street and none from Hampden. South wing of south
curb out to be a minimum of 120 feet north of south property line of Hampden.
6. Five foot concrete sidewalk across front of Norgren property.
7. Eight foot concrete sidewalk on west side of Elati , paralleling curbing and running
full width of ball park.
8. Oiled parking full width of ball park.
9. This arrangement will permit future straightening of east curb if traffic conditions
should ever warrant this.
10. No part of the present street should be either vacated, or should a lease or other
arrangements be made that would keep the city from straightening the curb, on either
or both sides of Elati, if conditions should ever warrant.

February 8, 1952
Members present: Janssen, Guilford, Flint and Jones.
The first business discuss ed was the plat on the Crosby property on South Broadway in the
south end of the 4600 block. The plat was tentatively approved pending Mr. Hickman's,
the mortgagor, joining in the dedication of the streets and alleys. Mr. Crosby is to get
a license for the continued use of a 20 ft. strip along Broadway until the balance of the
block is dedicated and the street widened.
The question of the vacation of Inca Street between Ithi ca and Kenyon Streets which was
requested by Mr. Hollberg was discussed. It was agreed by the Commission that a fair price
I for this land should be paid by Mr. Hollberg if this vacation of the street was made .
The Maxwell Subdivision between Dartmouth and Eastman, High and Williams is to be subdivided
on a 60 ft. frontage basis with a 1 ,000 sq. ft. area except the first lot off Dartmouth
which is to be a 76 ft. frontage.
We recommended that the area between Dartmouth and Floyd and Rac e and University be rezoned
to a minimum of 1200 sq. ft. homes with a 1,000 sq. ft. land area.
The Commission requested the Council to pass an ordinance to require a s e t-back of 75 ft.
on each side of Jefferson Street from Broadway to Sherman Street and from Sherman to the
east city limits to be 50 ft. set-back for any buildings tlat should be erected along
Jefferson Street.
The Saines Subdivision in the 4600 block between Galapago and Huron was tentatively approved
on the basis of having four lots instead of the five lots as indicated on the original plat.
