Guilford Vice-Chairman MEMORANDUM TO THE ENGLEWOOD CITY COUNCIL REGARDING ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION OF THE ENGLEWOOD PLANNING COMMISSION. Date: May 3, 1956 Subject: Amendment to present Zoning Ordinance Recommendation: That the present Zoning Ordinance be amended to provide for definite requirements in a petition for rezoning, and that a more realistic fee be provided for, and that a minimum size eligible for rezoning be established, and that any portion of the present ordinance in ahy conflict therewith be -repealed; and, that provisions be made to publish the Zoning Ordinance in pamphlet form, to be available on or about August 1, 1956, such pamphlet to be prefaced with proper excerpts from statutes setting out the duties and jurisdiction of the City Plannin g Commission. Guilford Vice-Chairman MEMORANDUM -TO THE ENGLEWOOD CITY COUNCIL REGARDING ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION OF THE ENGLEWOOD PLANNING COMMISSION Date: May 3 , 1956 Subject: Dedication of land for street and alley ~urposes between West Tufts Avenue and West Layton Avenue along the East l ine of present South Lipan Street and between South Kalamath Street and South Lipan Street. Recommendation: Since Mr. Rex Garrett, representing certain owners, filed his offer to convey to the City a strip along the East line of present South Lipan Street extending from the South line of West Tufts Avenue to the North line of West Layton Avenue, such strip being 4.37 feet wide at the North end and 3.63 feet wide at the South end, and to be used for street purposes; also, a strip 16 feet ~n width extending from the South line of West Tufts Avenue to the North line of West Layton Avenue, the center line of such strip lying 133 feet West of and parallel to the West line of South Kalamath Street to be used for alley purposes; the objective being that Mr. Garrett and the certain owners will retain lands between South Kalamath Street and South Lipan Street sufficient to make building Sites exactly 75 feet by 125 feet in size. M. Members Pres ent: Barde, Braun, Jones, Romans . (Mr. Lacy attended on behalf of Mr. Rudd, City Manager, who was absent). 'Members Absent: Guilford, Rapp, Rudd I I I I I I Englewood Chamber of Commerce 180 West Girard Avenue See Below PAGE 143 Hearing No. 31 Chairman Jones advised the Board that The Englewood Chamber of ,Commerce had received reports from owners of trailer courts within the area bordering the Northwest part of Englewood, now in the process of annexation, indicating their fear of having non-conforming land use and might, therefore, be forced to discontinue operations of ~railer courts, if annexed to Englewood. Braun moved: Romans , seconded: that a letter be written to The Englewood Chamber of Commerce for transmittal to all persons concerned, stating that, although trailer courts in The City of Englewood would be non-conforming to our present Zoning Ordinance, the Englewood Planning Commission could not legally legislate a ·trailer court of any other business out of business . There are trailer courts presently located within the city limits of Englewood which are doing an active business today. (See minutes of mee ti?gs held on dates above referred.) There being no further information or plan plan pre~ented by the owners, it was suggested by Mr. Lacy that the Planning Commission make one more attempt to develop 1 a plan which would be agreeable to all concerned for presentation at a later date. Littleton, Colorado See Below Hearing No. 32 Chairman Jones spoke briefly regarding a special meeting with Littleton officials and their proposal for setting boundar.ies for future annexations to both Littleton and Englewood. Mr. Jones stated that he would carry the propos a l to the Englewood City Council at the first opportunity as requested. Amendment · to Present Zoning Ordinance See Below Hearing No. 28-A May 3, 1956 Referring to memorandum to The Englewood City Council dated May 3, 1956 wherein recommendation was made that the present Zoning Ordinance be amended to provide for definite requirements in a petition for rezoning, and that a more realistic fee be provided for, and that a minimum size eligible for rezoning be establ:ished, and that any portion of the present ordinance in any conflict therewith be repealed; and, that provisions be made to publish the Zoning Ordinance in pamphlet form , to be available on or about August 1, 1956, such pamphlet to be prefaced with proper excerpts from statutes setting out the duties and jurisdiction of the City Planning Commission. The memorandum was returned by Council, asking the Planning Commission to make recommendations as to detail and wording of all sections of the desired amendment.
