CALL TO ORDER El The regular meeting of the City Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:03 p .m. in the City Council Chambers of the Englewood Civic Center, Chair Knoth presiding. APPROVAL OF MINUTES May 17, 2011 e Roth moved: King seconded: TO APPROVE THE MAY 17, 2011 MINUTES Chair Knoth asked if there were any modifications or corrections. There were none. El Audra Kirk, Planner I, was sworn in . She provided background information regarding the original PUD and the proposed Amendment No. 1. The Amendment will change the Permitted Principal Uses to allow a drive-thru automatic teller machine (ATM). FOOTNOTE : Applicant provided Certification of Posting after the hearing concluded . El King moved : Brick seconded: CASE #ZON2011-002 1 THE SHOPS AT HAMPDEN AND LOGAN PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT NO. 1 BE RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL TO CITY COUNCIL WITH A FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION FOR ADOPTION. Commission comments included: 1. The use meets site plan requirements and the community has no objections . 2. The decrease in parking is not an issue. 3. The use is a great idea for th e center and a good use of the parking spaces. 4. STUDY SESSION 6 MULTI-YEAR CAPITAL PROJECTS Director White reviewed the 2012 Capital Projects recommendations. Preliminary estimates are that revenue will be about $2 .5 million avai l ab le with existing maintenance and leases equaling about that. He noted Staff is going to request funding for a "pilot project" along Old Hampden in front of Swedish as part of the Old Hampden Corridor Streetscape project. King moved: Brick seconded: THE LIST OF 2012 CAPITAL PROJECTS BE APPROVED AS PRESENTED WITH THE RECOMMENDATION THAT THE MEDICAL DISTRICT SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS BE MADE A PRIORITY SHOULD THERE BE AN INTEREST IN PURCHASING THE PROPERTY AT CLARKSON AND HIGHWAY 285 FROM A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL OR INVESTOR. AYES: NAYS: ABSTAIN: ABSENT : Roth, Knoth , King, Calonder, Brick, Bleile, Welker None None Fish Motion carried. MEDICAL DISTRICT PHASE II UPDATE Director White provided an update on the Medical District Phase II , Sub-area 2. He stated City Council has directed Community Development to move forward with a rezoning of the MU-R-3-B area. Rezoning options will be presented to City Council on June 27th. Council adopted a Resolution establishing a moratorium on issuing certain building permits in the MU-R-3 -B zone district. City Council has requested a joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Commission suggested that meeting take place on July 1811 '. PUBLIC FORUM There was no public present. V. DIRECTOR'S CHOICE ~ Director White noted th e Commission may be asked to consider several amendments to the Code regarding (1) requiring notification of ce rt ain Planning and Zoning hearings by mail, (2) increasing the notification radius from 500 feet to 1000 feet for neighborhood meetings and Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearings and (3) allowing a maximum of 180 days between neighborhood meetings and the Planning and Zon in g Commission Public Hearing. VI. STAFF'S CHOICE Director White had nothing further. VII. ATTORNEY'S CHOICE e Ms. Reid had nothing further to report. VIII. COMMISSIONER'S CHOICE e Chair Knoth suggested a copy of a Denver Post article regarding waving signs be copied and give n to all Comm iss ion ers. The meeting adjourned at 7 :38 p.m . ~retary
