CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room of the Englewood Civic Center, Chair Krieger presiding. Present: Absent: Staff : Guest: Brick, Diekmeier, Hunt, Knoth, Krieger, Mosteller, Roth Bleile, Welker (Excused) Tricia Langon, Senior Planner Nancy Reid, Assistant City Attorney Marcus McAskin, Grimshaw & Harring II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES September 20, 2005 Mr. Roth moved: Mr. Bleile seconded: To approve the September 20, 2005 Minutes. AYES: NAYS: Brick, Diekmeier, Knoth, Mosteller, Roth None ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Hunt, Krieger Bleile, Welker Motion carried. Ill. STUDY SESSION Ms. Langon introduced Mr. McAskin from Grimshaw & Harring. Mr. McAskin provided a PowerPoint training session on the roles and responsibilities of the Planning Commissioner. Discussion ensued regarding the presentation. IV. PUBLIC FORUM No one was present to address the Commission. 1 V. DIRECTOR'S CHOICE Ms. Langon reviewed the upcoming meeting dates . She stated there would be no meetings on November 22 and December 20. The Commission will be discussing the updated handbook at the December 6 meeting which has been condensed to 10 pages and designed with new Commissioners in mind. The first meeting in January is tentatively scheduled for January 3 if it is a study session; if a public hearing is scheduled it will be moved to January 10. Ms. Langon reminded the Commission that the second meeting in January will be held on a Wednesday, January 18, due to the holiday. Ms. Langon stated that Ms. Laga sent staff an e-mail indicating her resignation from the Commission . VI. ATTORNEY'S CHOICE Ms. Reid updated the Commission on a previous interpretation case regarding telephone poles used as fencing materials. Building permits for that particular fence have expired and were voided for lack of action. At this time any fence construction on that property will have to meet current UDC fence regulations which prohibit telephone poles as fencing materials . VII. COMMISSIONER'S CHOICE Chair Krieger asked if the conditions of the Denver Seminary PUD stay with the property even if the developer changes. Ms. Langon responded that all conditions and development requirements are tied to the PUD, not to a particular developer. Mr. Brick stated that the Keep Englewood Beautiful Commission will be doing an assessment of the environmental section of the Comprehensive Plan and will be seeking the Commission 's input.
