CITY OF ENGLEWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMl\.flSSION
December 16, 1997
6:30 p.m.
An open house was held in the Community Room of Englewood City Hall, to hear and view a
presentation on a proposed small area plan for the North Englewood area, bounded on the
north by West Yale Avenue, on the east by South Broadway , on the south by West Dartmouth
Avenue, and on the west by South Santa Fe Drive.
Invitations to the open house were mailed to residents/property owners who signed in at any of
the previous North Englewood Coming Together (NECT) meetings, advising of the date, time,
place, and purpose of the open house. Invitations were also extended to City Council members
and Board of Adjustment & Appeals members, as well as the Planning Commission members.
Planning Commission Members present: Douglas, Cottle, Homer, Tobin , Weber, Welker
City Council Members present: Garrett, Nabholz, Clapp , Bradshaw
Board of Adjustment Members present: Seymour, Allen
City Staff present: Graham, Langon, Denning, Reid, Esterly, Kahm
Civitas Staff present: Johnson, Farley, Stone
Attendees were invited to view the various graphic displays prior to a brief presentation by
City Staff and representatives of Civitas. Mr . Graham presented the background leading up to
the proposed Small Area Plan, and Mr . Johnson briefly discussed the intent of the Plan , which
is three-fold: 1) stabilize the neighborhood; 2) open up opportunities for development or rede-
velopment; (3) transit orientation of development/redevelopment. Following the presentation,
attendees asked questions and briefly discussed concerns with staff and consultant representa-
tives .
The open house ended at approximately 8:30 p.m.
