Present were Mr. Harry Fleenor, Mr. Stephen Lyon, and Mrs. Dorothy Romer. Also present were Mr. Terry Paup, Assistant City Attorney and Mr. Leo Barron, Deputy City Clerk. Mr. Paup presented a legal opinion on the authority of the Election Commission to determine the wording of questions to be placed on the ballot. The opinion stated "that the ballot title and submission clause must accurately and concisely reflect the substance and content of the proposed initiated ordinance. (A copy of said opinion is attached hereto.) The Election Commission discussed the opinion and the wording of the questions to be submitted to the voters. It was moved by Mr. Fleenor and seconded by Mrs. Romer that the wording of the two questions to be placed on the ballot before the voters be the following: 1. An ordinance requiring motor vehicles, except trucks and busses, stopped or parked on the streets of sufficient width in the City of Englewood to be parked at an angle of forty- f i ve degrees in relation to adjacent curb, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. 2. An ordinance requiring the parking of motor vehicles upon the streets within the City of Englewood, Colo- rado, having adjacent curbs, in such a manner so that both the front and rear wheels thereof are not more than twelve (12) inches from such adjacent curbs, except where parking is prohibited and repealing all ordinances in conflict therewith. and that the resolution adopting said wording be approved.
