CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO
OCTOBER 31, 1968
The Election Commission of the City of Englewood,
Arapahoe County, Colorado, met at 12:00 P.M. at the Hackney House,
Englewood, Colorado.
Present: Mr. William Hanson
Mr. Harry Fleenor
Mr. Stephen A. Lyon, Chairman
The following actions were taken:
1. The Election Commission confirmed Mr. Lyon's decision
that not more nor less than two counting judges would be required
in paper ballot precincts.
2. The procedures to be used by counting judges presented
by Mr. Lyon and dated October 30, 1968, we~e adopted.
3. The Election Commission ruled that ballot boxes and
paper ballots will be deliver~d directly to the judges at the
split precincts between 6:30 and 6:45 A.M. November 5, 1968.
4. The Election Commission ruled that abse~tee ballots
would be delivered to the counting judges directly by the Chai~an
and a member of the Election Commission in a precinct at his
discretion rather than delivering to the judges of election
appointed by Arapahoe County.
5. The Chairman of the Election Commission was authorized
to handle any problems arising during the course of the election
on November 5 on behalf of the Election Commission and that he
should use his own discretion in determining whether any such
problems warranted calling a special commission meeting on that
date.
6. Due to the fact that all ballot boxes to be used in
the election are on loan from parties other than the city of
Englewood, the Election Commission will meet on November 7 to
canvass the vote and to remove all ballots and other materials
from the ballot boxes and place in a safety deposit box for the
six-month holding period.
