It was also reported that the wording of the quest i o n con c e r n ing t he propo sal to p u rchase the Englewood - L i tt l eton-Fort Logan Bus Line should be established by the Commis - sion. HANSON MO VED, MADDOX SECONDED, THAT THE WORDING ON THE F IVE QUESTIONS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS BE AS FOLLOWS: l.* SHALL AN ORDINANCE BE ADOPTED AUTHORIZING THE PU RCHASE OF THE ENGLEWOOD-LITTLETON-FORT LOGAN BUS LINE? VOTE: FOR AGAINST 2. SHALL THE CITY CHARTER BE AMENDED TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD FROM SIX TO NINE? VOTE: F OR AGAINST 3. SHALL THE CITY CHARTER BE AMENDED TO INCREASE THE NUM BER OF MEMBERS ON THE CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION FROM S IX TO NINE? VO TE: FOR AGAINST 4 . SHA LL THE CITY CHA RT ER BE AMENDED TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS . FROM FIVE TO SEVEN? VOTE: FOR AGAINST 5. VOTE: FOR AGAINST Chai r man Lyon r e ported that the state election laws we re c hanging concerning t he last day for voter registration before election . The new state law, which will go into effect within 30 days of the Englewood e l ection , stat ed that no voter reg i stration may take p l ace aft e r 30 d a y s before an election. This presents a problem in terms of publicity to those who might wish to register for thi s e l ection as on l y a few days now remain before the 30 day periodd Also, t he new l aw will go into effect within the 30 day cutoff period. MA DDOX MO VED , HANSON SECONDED , THA T F OR THE MA Y 5 SPECIAL ELECTION VOTER REGISTRATION SHALL TAKE PLA CE AS UNDER THE PRESENT COLORADO MUNICIPAL ELECT ION LAWS AND THAT THE CHAI RMAN OF THE ELECTION COMMISSI ON IS HEREBY DIREC TED TO ADVISE TH E ARAPAHOE COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION OF THIS RULING IN ORDE R THAT THE TWO AGENCIES MIGHT COORDINATE THEIR VOTER REG I STRATION CUT OFF. The motion was carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:30 P .M.
