ELECTION COMMISS IO N MEETING
MINUTES
OC TO BER 13, 1975

William D. James called the meeting to order at 3:45 P.M.
Members present: Mrs. Lois Gilbert, Hrs. Mary Lou Newpor t, William D.
James.
Members absent: None.
Mr;.. James declared a quorum present.
Also present: Bric Johannisson.
Hr. James presented the petitions received from individuals desiring to
be candidates in the Municipal Election to be h e ld on November 4, 1975.
Mrs. Gilbert ltloved .and Mrs. Newport Seconded a : motion to certify the
following candidates to the November 4, 1975, Election ballot:
District #1: Donald L. R. Smith
Edward c. White
District #2: Edward G. Smith
Donald w. Williams
At-Large:. Doris M. Chorn
David B. Clayton
Arthur R. Martin, Jr.
Eddie Tanguma, Jr.
James L. Taylor
Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows:
Ayes: Gilbert, Newport, James.
Nays: 'None.
Mr. James presented a list of 58 people who had indicated their willing-
ness to work at the polls on November 4th. Mrs. Newport indicated that
about ten people would be needed to be alternates as experience shows that
about ten people can't participate at the last minute. Mr. Johannisson
said he had contacted the Sentinel newspaper to have an article inserted
a sking for additional volunteers.
Mrs . Newport moved, Mrs. Gilbert seconded a motion to certify the names of
persons presented as judges an d alternat e judges for the November 4, 1975
Mu nicipal Election.
Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows:
Ayes: Gilbert, Newport, James.
Nays: None.

Mr. James presente4_ a list of polling places for the November 4th Election .
Mrs . Gilbert moved, Mrs. Newport seconded a motion to certify the presented
list of polling places for the November 4, 1975, Municipal Election.
Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows:
Ayes: Gilbert, Newport, James.
Nays: None.
The Comrnission discussed the need for setting up a meeting of all the
Election Judges and alternates to inform them about the proper conduct
of the election. Mr. James said that a meeting would be held on October 31,
1975. Mrs. Newport recommended that two meeting dates/times be planned to
accomodate all judges.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:25 P.M.
