Home My WebLink About1978-10-09 EC MINUTES//0 ELECTION COMMISSION Minutes October 9, 1978 Members Present: Barbara Burget, William James Members Absent: Betty Keena Also Present: Eric Johannisson The meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m. Mr. Jrunes reported on the City Council action on the Commis- sion's recommendations: 1. The Council has directed the Planning and Zoning Commis- sion to consider the recommendation about election signs. 2. The Council disapproved the request that a citizen survey of voter attitudes be conducted. 3. The Council asked that a sample voter information brochure be prepared, with cost estimates, for Council's consider- ation. Mr. Johannisson will prepare a brochure to be presented at the next Commission meeting to be held after the first of the year. Other "public relations" alternatives were discussed that would better publicize the need for citizen participation in the election procedure. The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
