Room.
Commission Member Higbee stated the purpose of the meeting
was to receive input from the League of Women Voters regard-
ing the type of format to use for the public hearing in the
Commission's review of the election law.
The following suggestions were made:
1. Have the Election Commission as the hearing body
with the City Attorney present.
The Commission would only receive citizen
input and act with recommendations at a
later dat e .
The City Attorney could possibly answer
any technical or law interpretations that
arise at the hearing.
2. Prepare an agenda of areas that need reform
i. e. recall procedures, and leave a part of
it open for any topics concerning the election
process that citizens may want to discuss.
3. Publish the notice and agenda in paper and state
the City Clerk will receive written comments for
those people who do not want to speak at the hear-
ing.
The Commission decided they would meet again in the near fu-
ture to set a date for the hearing and corifirm the format.
