All requests for absentee voter ballots must be received in writing: A. Form provided by the City Clerk -···e. A letter or postcard stating: -Name of requestor -Residence address -Reason for absence -Address where ballot should ma i led 2. The City Clerk's offi~e will receive wr i tten requests from one family member for another family member. This will be limited to P?rents requesting for children, chi l dren requesting for parents, and a spouse requesting for the other spouse. 3. Oral or telephone requests will not be honored. Persons will be informed of the written requirements. A form will be sent to any person upon oral or telephone request. ELECrION CALENDAR -NOVEMBER 5, 1985 August 5, thru November 1, 1985 September 16, thru October 4, 1985 October 11, 1985 October 14, 1985 October 11, 1985 October 14, 1985 October 16, 1985 October 18, 1985 7 IJ 0 AM VJ October 25, 1985 October 31, 1985 November 1, 1985 -Absent voter applications may be received -Nanination petitions required to be filed with the Clerk not less than 30 days nor circulated and signed more than 50 days before election day Last day to register to vote or change address Send letters to prospective judges and alternates -Hand carry voter registration list to Arapahoe County Clerk Prepare list of polling places and notify movers of addresses Last day for withdrawing ncrninations Order voting machine strips; candidates names and amendments--candidates names to appear A-Z in even precincts and Z-A _in odd-numbered pre- cincts; order sample ballots and absentee ballots -Any vacancy in ncrninations to be filled on this date Election Carmission to certify list of candidates Publish the election notice in October 23rd newspaper -Finalize list of judges and alternates -Last day to amend ncrnination petitions -candidates must file statanent of contributions and expenditures with Clerk Deliver official ballot to County Clerk (retain sample ballots) -Mail absent voter ballots Post notice of election at polling places Pick up registration lists frcrn County Clerk Prepare judges packets -call polling places to remind them to have poll- ing places opened by 6:00 a.m. on Election Day Pick up keys frcrn Centennial Church -Judges workshop and delivery of election supplies n Last day to receive applications for absentee ballots. Applications can be received up until the close of business on this day.
