Crow, City Clerk DATE: December 30, 1988 SUBJECT: Career Service Board Election Confirming my telephone notice the other day of the upcoming election for a member of the Career Service Board, enclosed is a proposed election schedule for your review. Also enclosed is a copy of the official petition format as well as the announcement of the election to ALL employees. I don't believe it is necessary for us to meet to approve these items. Please look them over and if you have any comments give me or Lou a call. If I don't hear from you by January 11th, I'll assume everything is okay and we will proceed with the schedule. It will be necessaTy for us to meet later on in February to do the following: 1) certify the petitions 2) certify the candidates 3) establish polling places and hours to vote 4) approve ballot 5) designate Commission member to assist City Clerk in counting votes on March 2, 1989 I've scheduled that meeting for February 16th at 4:00 p.m., but that date can be changed if it's not convenient. Just let me know. ' ----- MEMORANDUM TO: All Full-time Employees in the Classified Service FROM: Election Commission DATE: January 16, 1989 SUBJECT: CAREER SERVICE BOARD ELECTION A vacancy on the Career Service Board will be created by the expiration of the term of office of Jo Ellen Turner on March 15, 1989. This office is to be filled by a vote of the full-time, permanent, classified employees. This is a four-year term which expires March 15, 1993. Qualifications of person to be elected are stipulated in Section 138:3 of the Charter. The election date has been set for March 1, 1989. Nomination petitions for candidates may be circulated beginning January 25, 1989, and are available in the City Clerk's office. Petitions must contain at least 25 bona fide signatures of full-time, permanent classified employees. Signatures of unclassified employees will be disqualified. Petitions for candidates must be received by the City Clerk no later than February 14, 1989 at 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions about the election please refer to Title 3, Chapter 2 of the Englewood Municipal Code '85, or call the City Clerk's office - extensions 729 or 788.
