V Establishment of attendance requirements for Commission Members: City Council Resolution No. 12 (attached) VI Members' Choice VII Adjournment RESOLUTION NO. id2:- SERIES OF 1989 RESOLUTION REQUESTING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CITY'S BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS. WHEREAS, pursuant to Charter, all Charter boards and commissions are appointed by City Council; and i'\HE RE.?,S, pursuant to Sto.te statute, members of certain beards and ccr:tr:lissicns are appointed by either council or mayor; and WHEP.E.~S, Council relies on beards and commissions to handle certain municipal responsibilities; and WHEREAS, regular attendance of appointees is necessary for the ?roper functioning of the boards and corr~issions; and WHEREAS, the attendance needs may vary among the boards and commissions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO: All boarc~s a.nd commissions of the City of Englewood are hereby required to submit to Council within sixty days attendance guideli~es for their respective board or commission; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that: In the event an a!_)pointee to a board or commission fails to meet the attend:>cnce guidelines, the board or commission may reconsend to the City Council the removal of that appointee. CROW, CITY CLERK 761-1140, EXT. 788 ELECTION COMMISSION ANNOUNCES CITY EMPLOYEE ELECTION On March 1, 1989, the City employees will elect one member to the Board of Career Service Commissioners due to the expiration of Jo Ellen Turner's term of office on March 15, 1989. The election will be conducted by the Englewood Election Commission. Qualified citizens who are interested in representing the City's employees on the Career Service Board should contact the City Clerk's office for official petitions. Qualification is established by the following criteria: Must be a resident of the City of Englewood. Must possess the integrity and impartiality to protect the public interest, as well as the interest of the City and its full-time, permanent, classified employees. Shall hold no other appointive or elective municipal office while serving as a Board member . No employee of the City shall be a member of the Board. The term of office shall be four (4) years. -more- -~- The petitions will be available in the City Clerk's office on January 25, 1989. The petitions must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) full-time, permanent, classified City employees. Nomination petitions, properly executed, are to be filed with the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on February 14, 1989. Only full -time, permanent, classified employees of the City of Englewood will be permitted to vote in this election.
