MEMORANDUM
TO: ELECTION COMMISSION
FROM: Pat Crow, City Clerk
DATE: July 23, 1991
SUBJECT: TRANSMITTAL OF VARIOUS ITEMS
First, I want to thank you for coming to the Council meeting on the 15th. It
was good to know you were there for moral support. The opposition that
surfaced didn't come as an absolute surprise. The second reading of the
council bill is scheduled for August 5 and I suppose Mr. Clayton will oppose
it again. Hopefully, the rest of Council will remain firm. Anyway, thanks.
Enclosed are copies of the minutes of June 27, 1991. Lou will call in a few
days to see if you approve them. A lot of the details of our conversation
with Mr. DeWitt was omitted.
Thus far, four candidate packets have been issued, but only one person has
filed as an official candidate -Kells Waggoner who will be running for
Council-at-large. Sheri Gulley and Anthony F. Unrein, both of whom reside in
District III, picked up packets. The other packet went to one of the City
firefighters who indicated he only wanted the information so he could learn
more about the election process.
Council minutes of the June 17 and July 1 meetings are enclosed.
As Commission members you have all been invited to attend the City employees'
picnic -invitation enclosed. The picnic is scheduled for August 16th in
Cushing Park from 2 to 5 p.m. City Hall will maintain a skeleton crew for
those hours with as many employees attending as possible. Hope to see you
