HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-10-17 EC MINUTESENGLEWOOD ELECTION COMMISSION October 17, 1991 The Election Commission meeting scheduled for October 17, 1991 was cancelled due to a lack of quorum. A telephone poll in lieu of the meeting was conducted with the following items being unanimously approved: 1. NOVEMBER 5, 1991 ELECTION NOTICE 2. BALLOT CONTENTS 3. APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION JUDGES -1 - ENGLEWOOD ELECTION COMMISSION TELEPHONE POLL October 17, 1991 Because of a lack of quorum and in lieu of a regular meeting, the City Clerk polled the Election Commission members who approved unanimously the ballot contents and the list of judges as certified by the City Clerk. In addition, unanimous authority was given to the City Clerk to appoint additional judges as necessary if vacancies occur. The City Clerk advised the members of the change in the Judges' workshop -now scheduled for October 30, 1991, one at 3:00 p.m. followed by one at 5:00 p.m., to be held at the Arapahoe County Voting Systems Facility, 5251 South Federal Boulevard, Littleton. Commission members are invited to attend. Election night duties were assigned: Betty Wilson to oversee return of judges' materials Ruth Smith to oversee process of manual abstract of votes Jo Lay/Llomar Warren to oversee process of tally board reports in Community Room Jo Lay to make official announcement of election results, offering congratulations to the successful candidates. NOTE: ELECTION COMMISSION MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO JOIN THE FINANCIAL SERVICES ELECTION OFFICIALS FOR DINNER AFTER THE CERTIFICATION OF THE ELECTION RESULTS. Holiday parade was discussed. Betty Wilson and Llomar Warren will not be able to participate. Ruth Smith and her husband will provide the vehicle; Jo Lay, Ruth Smith, and Pat Crow to ride; Mr. Smith to be official driver. City Clerk's office will provide posters, candy, and "Vote Nov . 5" lapel stickers . Brenda Castle, City Clerk's office, will design posters to be attached to Mr. Smith's car. Certain members of Financial Services will walk along with vehicle passing out candy to children and handing out the "vote'' stickers. Children and an unidentified member of City Clerk's office will be in fantasy costumes and accompany the Finance Finesteppers. Finesteppers will wear their green sweat shirts; Election Commission members will all wear matching shirts of some kind, secured by Pat Crow. ~tU~ ity Cl erk Recycled Paper
