City Council approved your appointment at their Regular Council Meeting on February 18, 1992. The appointment i s effective February 1, 1992 and will expire February 1, 1996. Jcf1/-9530 {(),' 7 6 /-1L/20 Members Jo Lay, Chairman Rene Mulnix Llomar Warren Betty Wilson Patricia Crow ENGLEWOOD ELECTION COMMISSION April 20, 1992 Mission Term Expires February 1, 1994 February 1, 1996 February 1, 1993 February 1, 1995 Tenure The mission of the Englewood Election Commission is to ensure that all municipal elections are conducted in accordance with the Colorado Municipal Election Laws, the Englewood Home Rule Charter, and the City of Englewood Municipal Code. Activities During 1991, under the auspices of the Englewood Election Commission, the City of Englewood conducted one regular municipal election on November 5, 1992. Four council members were elected: two council members at-large -Alex Habenicht and Kells Waggoner; District I -Rita Hathaway; District III -Sheri Gulley. Four Charter amendments were approved, one Charter amendment was not approved: those approved were: No. 1 -ballot to contain Financial Impact Statement on future employee impasse referendums; No. 2 -Council residency requirement from 3 years to 1 year; No. 4 -Councilmember 2 consecutive term limitation; and No. 5 -change qualified to registered electors in certain sections, deletion of "tax-paying'' in certain sections. Charter Amendment No. 3 changing Council age requirement from 25 to 21 years was not approved by the electors. The results of the election were uncontested. The next regular municipal election is scheduled for November 2, 1993. Thus far in 1992, the Election Commission has conducted one employee election for a Commissioner of the Englewood Career Service Board. This election was held in March and William G. Belt, who ran uncontested, was reelected by the employees for another term to expire March 15, 1996. The next Career Service Board election is scheduled for March, 1993. Items for Discussion Update on County Reapportionment -Redistricting of City Council Districts Forthcoming recommendation regarding HB 1333 (consolidation of election laws, the adoption of which would require a Charter amendment; if not adopted, then City would continue to conduct elections under CRS 31-10, City Charter and Code) Use of Arapahoe County Training Facility for election judges' workshops Possibility of contracting with Arapahoe County to conduct future elections Revisions to Election Procedure Manual as a result of the Charter amendments approved by the electorate on November 5, 1991.
