Your letter addressed to the Mayor expressing displeasure with the election
procedure has been referred to the Election Commission for a response.
The March 3, 1992 election was the first time the State of Colorado conducted
a Presidential Preference Primary. The ballot was limited to the candidates
for the Democratic and Republican Party. In order to save tax-payer dollars
the Arapahoe County Election Office combined precincts. Information cards
were mailed out prior to the Elect i on advising registered voters of the
polling places.
We contacted the Arapahoe County Election Office th i s morning and they state
you will receive another card giving notice of your polling place prior to the
August 11, 1992 Primary. Please hold onto that card as it will indicate your
polling place for the August election as well as the General Election November
3, 1992.
Because elections are conducted by different authorities and under different
guidelines it is not always possible for polling places to be within the same
city in which you reside.' For municipal elections, which are generally
conducted during odd-numbered years , the City of Englewood strives to have
polling places within the City and in close proximity to the residential area.
Currently the established polling place for municipal elections in your
neighborhood is at the Alternative High School, 2323 West Baker Avenue.
It is always a good idea to check with the proper election office regarding
polling places prior to the election as changes are sometimes necessary.
The following is a list of elections as well as the entity responsible for
conducting the election:
-Primary & General Elections: Arapahoe County Election Office -795-4511
-School Elections: Englewood School Administration Office -761-7050
-General Municipal Elections: City Clerk's Office -762-2405
