The ordinance adopts those provisions of the Uniform Election Code of 1992, as amended, that are not inconsist ent with the Englewood Home Rule Charter. Please refer to my letter of June 16, 1993, which e . addressed those areas of the Code which are superseded by our Charter. ORDINANCE No.JS-- SERIES OF 1993 BY AUTHORITY COUNCIL BILL NO. 37 INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL MEMBER HATHAWAY AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING ELECTION PROCEDURE FOR NOVEMBER 1993 ELECTION WITHIN THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD. WHEREAS, the City Charter for the City of Englewood authorizes the Englewood City Council to adopt by ordinance election procedures in the City of Englewood that are not inconsistent with the Charter and the State Constitution; and WHEREAS, the Englewood Electi on Commission has reviewed in great detail the Englewood Charter, the election laws of the State of Colorado and Taxpayers Bill of Rights adopted by the voters of the State of Colorado in November 1992; and WHEREAS, the Home Rule Charter of the City of Englewood authorizes City Council to adopt election laws by reference; and WHEREAS, the City Council, on recommendation of the Englewood Election Commission, desires to adopt those provisions of the Uniform Election Code of 1992 that are not inconsistent with the Englewood Home Rule Charter; and WHEREAS, by adoption of the Uniform Election Code of 1992, the City will be able to participate in the coordinated election with Arapahoe County as desired by the voters and set forth in the Taxpayers Bill of Rights; and WHEREAS, that participating in the coordi nated election will result in the use of a mail · ballot and reduce confusion by not having competing polling places. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAI NED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: City Council of the City of Englewood hereby adopts as election procedure, for the 1993 municipal election within the City of Englewood , the provisions of the Uniform Election Code of 1992, also known as C.R.S . 1-1-101 et seq, as amended, that are not inconsistent with the Englewood Home Rule Charter. 1993.
