Call to Order Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday March 21, 2012 Chair Linda Hart called the regular meeting of the Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee to order at 6:38 p.m. Roll Call Members Present: Chair Linda Hart, Heather Roberts , Mary Berger, James Jordon, Doug Cohn, Miguel Drake. Members Absent: Council Member Rick Gillit, Susan Bayless, (excused), Marge Becker, (excused). Ex-Officio Members Present: Deputy City Manager, M. Flaherty, Sergeant Mark McKay. Guest: John Zadie A quorum of the Committee was present. • II. Approval of Minutes • Member H . Roberts made a motion to approve the minutes for January 18, 2012. The motion was seconded by Member J. Jordan. The minutes were unanimously approved. III. Open Public Forum J. Zadie requesting requirements for twelve hour snow removal and limitations of dispersing the snow onto city streets. Answer: Sgt. McKay indicated that you cannot displace snow onto city streets which would impede traffic . IV. New Business A. Welcome new members: D. Cohn to CEAC Board and M. Drake as an alternate member. V. Unfinished Business A. Review draft ordinance, reference potbellied pigs . Discussion: Concerns were expressed regarding weight limitations and cross breeding of potbellied pigs with domestic/farm pigs, which can result in weights in excess of 300 pounds. Chair L. Hart suggested that rather than amend the cat/dog ordinance the city could use a permit process such as with bee keeping. (with accompanying regulations, ie , weight) • • • Motion: Chair L. Hart made a motion to prepare a permit process for the keeping of a potbellied pig . Motion: L. Hart Seconded: H. Roberts Vote: Approved with condition that accompanying regulations be detailed at the next CEAC meeting. VI. Code Enforcement Activity Report Snow removal violations up from 2011 due to January thru February storms. Discussion: Council Member B. Mccaslin complimented Code Enforcement on their efforts. Member L. Hart requested information from Prosecuting Attorney on the number of cases that heard by the judge vs. number of cases resolved by plea negotiations. VII. Announcements None VIII. Topics for Next Meeting 1. Potbellied pig regulations 2. Code Enforcement policy review 3. Discuss response from the courts/Prosecuting Attorney IV Adjournment Member M .
