Call to Order Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday September 19, 2012 Meeting called to order by Chair: Linda Hart Time : 6 :35 p.m. Roll Call Members Present: S. Bayless, L. Hart, H . Roberts , D. Cohn Members Absent: M. Berger, M . Drake Ex-officio Members Present: M. Flaherty, M . McKay Ex-officio Members Absent : Council Members : Bob Mccaslin , excused ; Rick Gillit, excused Guests : None II. Approval of Minutes Member D . Cohn made a motion to approve the minutes for August 15 , 2012 . The motion was seconded by Member H . Roberts . The minutes were unanimously approved . III. Open Public Forum Guest: None • IV. New Business • A. None V. Unfinished Business A. Review of draft ordinance pertaining to pot-bellied pigs . Discussion: Deputy Manager M. Flaherty expressed that City Council was not in favor of a potbellied pig permit and that CEAC review their recommendations for requirements to pet pig owners. CEAC discussed requirements for recommendations to Council. Motion to recommend requirements as follows : l. Potbellied pigs shall not exceed on hundred thirty (130) pounds . (included in definition) 2 . Potbellied pigs are limited to two (2) per household or dwelling. 3 . Female potbellied pigs shall be spayed and male potbellied pigs shall be neutered by the age of four (4) months. 4 . The pig shall be vaccinated as recommended by that veterinarian . The owner shall maintain proof of vaccination. 5 . When off the owner's or keeper 's property, all potbellied pigs must be on a leash less than ten feet (10 ') in length and under the control of the owner or keeper. 6 . Potbellied pigs must be provided adequate food , water, exercise, shelter, veterinary care and otherwise comply with the provisions of this article. Motion was carried by Member L. Hart, seconded by Member D . Cohn motion carried . Deputy Manger M . Flaherty will forward the recommended requirements to the City Attorney . I" ' • • • VI. Code Enforcement July/August 2012 Activity Report Sgt. M. McKay reported Code staff is operating with one employee absent. Response is limited with a priority to respond to current complaints. VII: Topics for Next Meeting A. New Business 1. Efficiency of current Code Enforcement policy and procedures. B. Unfinished Business None IX. Adjournment Motion by Member M .
