I. Call to Order
Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee
Meeting Minutes
Wednesday November 16, 2011
Vice Chair Linda Hart called the regular meeting of the Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory
Committee to order at 6:36 p.m.
Roll Call
Members Present: Linda Hart, Susan Bayless, Heather Roberts, Mary Berger and Doug Cohn
(Alternate).
Members Absent: Marjorie Becker, James Jordon
Ex-Officio Members Present: Bob Mccaslin, Rick Gillit, Sergeant Mar~ McKay and Deputy
Manager Michael Flaherty
Guest: None
A quorum of the Committee was present.
• II. Approval of Minutes
•
Member S. Bayless made a motion to approve the minutes including corrections of the
September 21, 2011 meeting. The motion was seconded by Member H. Roberts. The minutes
were unanimously approved.
III. Open Public Forum
None
IV. New Business
A. Ordinance 44: Storage of vehicles on private property
Member L. Hart questioned the status of the initiative 2D. Deputy Manager M. Flaherty
responded that the City Attorney is working on adjustments to the code to comply with the
initiative and will present his findings to City Council at an upcoming study session. Member L.
Hart asked about other voter approved initiatives, 2C. Deputy Manager M. Flaherty has
rendered an opinion on the application of the initiative and distributed a copy. Member M.
Becker will complete her 3rd term on CEAC in the July 2012 and cannot be reappointed at that
time.

V. Unfinished Business
A. Review of classification of potbellied pigs
Committee Members reviewed and discussed the draft ordinance.
Chair L. Hart raised motion to change section 7-lC-1; Definition of Pig and change from 100
pounds to 120 pounds, and Member S. Bayless seconded the motion.
Motion approved 4-0
Member S. Bayless raised motion to change section 7-lA-2 to add pig to at risk behavior
prohibited, and Member M. Berger seconded the motion.
Motion approved: 4-0
Chair L. Hart raised motion to change section 7-lA-14; to change title to add "squealing" to loud
or frequent or habitual barking, and Member S. Bayless seconded the motion.
Motion approved: 4-0
Member M. Berger raised motion to change sections 7-lA-16 & 17; Dangerous Animals
Prohibited to add "Pigs ." Chair L. Hart seconded the motion.
Motion approved : 4-0
VI. Code Enforcement Activity Report
Sergeant Mark McKay stated animal control calls; particularly animals running at large are high,
but not extra ordinary. McKay also mentioned that Code Enforcement Officer Susan Schnell is
developing well with her training.
VII. Announcements
Chair L. Hart requested information on Court Dispositions of Dangerous Animals cases and
victim impact statements for any such cases in 2011.

Has an animal owner previously been required to obtain obedience training?
VIII. Adjournment
Member M . Berger made motion to adjourn; Chair L. Hart seconded the motion. The motion
carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 .
