CITY OF ENGLEWOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Minutes of the Meeting of November 17, 2010 CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee was called to order at 6:32 pm by Chair Mosman. Roll Call Present: Chair Mosman, Members Bayless, Becker, Berger, Hart, Wilson, and Alternate Member Skinner. Absent: Member Hinger. A quorum of the Committee was present. Ex-Officio Members Present: Council Liaisons Gillit and Mccaslin, and Staff Liaisons Flaherty and Sergeant Englert. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Member Becker and seconded by Member Bayless to approve the minutes of the September 15, 2010 meeting. There being no changes, the minutes were approved as submitted. Ill. PUBLIC OPEN FORUM a. John Hargrove discussed citation received for parking his 7000+ pound Snap On box truck off street in his driveway in front of his house. Discussion ensued. b. Pat Lally discussed trash cans and lids in alleys and the related code policy. Discussion ensued . c. Mike Cairn discussed citation received for parking his 7,000+ pound work truck on his property. He wants to park the truck off street at his house at night for security reasons. He also has been reported by neighbor for erroneous barking dog and vibration violations, and indicated it is costly for officers to follow up on numerous false complaints. Discussion ensued . IV. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a. Off-Road Vehicles/Recreational Vehicles/Trailers: Regulations and Enforcement 1. Chair Mosman presented a City map showing where recreation vehicle complaints were generated over the last year. Discussion ensued. 2. Seasonal Permits . Discussion ensued. 3. Sergeant Englert discussed the weight of current pickup trucks , City Code vehicle weight limits, and acceptable hard surfaces . Discussion ensued. V. MONTHLY CODE ENFORCEMENT REPORT Sergeant Englert provided Code Enforcement activity reports for September/October 2009 and September/October 2010. Numbers are down significantly from 2009 because of fewer staff. Discussion followed. VI. NEW BUSINESS Linda Hart discussed a dog attack in October resulting in the death of a small dog and provisions for picking up and impounding at large dogs. Discussion ensued . VII. TOPICS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS • Enforcement of Trash Can and Lid Ordinances • Snow Removal and Storage • Sign Code • Off-Road Vehicles/Recreational Vehicles/Trailers: Regulations and Enforcement VIII.
