CALL TO ORDER City of Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee Minutes from the Meeting of September 16, 2009 -~ The regular meeting of the Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee was called to order at 6 :37 p.m. by Chair Mosman . Roll Call Present: Chair Mosman and Members Bayless , Becker, Hart, Hinger, Hoagland, Wilson , and Alternate Member Berger . Absent/Excused: None. A quorum was present. Ex-Officio Members Present: Council Liaisons Mccaslin and Penn, and Staff Liaisons Flaherty and Sergeant Contos . Ex-Officio Members Absent: None . APPROVAL OF MINUTES D Chris Hoagland made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 15, 2009 meeting. This was seconded by Tealee Hinger. There being no changes, the minutes were approved. Ill. PUBLIC OPEN FORUM i~ None. IV. NEW BUSINESS a. b. c. tJJ: Council Member Penn advised the Committee of a meeting Tuesday evening, September 22"d at 6:30 pm in the Community Room . This will be an open discussion on the City 's sign code, banners, sandwich boards, etc. He encouraged Committee members to attend. Discussion ensued. -~ Susan Bayless inquired about keeping chickens and b ees in the City of Englewood. Discussion ensued. ~ Distribution of revised Code Enforcement Advisory Committee Bylaws. d. -Distribution of gifts not received by CEAC members at the Board and Commission Appreciation Night on August 101h. V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS VI. a. · ..:§ 2009 Englewood Citizen Survey results presentation. b . c. d. e. Power point presentation and discussion on the 2009 Survey was led by Mike Flaherty. The Oprah Winfrey segment on the Colorado Humane Society animal shelter will be viewed at the next meeting . ..:§ Mike Flaherty reported on the status of the Colorado Humane Society. Discussion ensued. -Denver Post article on Denver code enforcement was distributed and discussed. ~ Mike Flaherty distributed information on abatement costs, administrative fees, and lien penalty fees as provided by the Finance Department. A report on the City's recovery of fees will be available by year end. Discussion ensued. CODE ENFORCEMENT REPORT ~ Sergeant Christian Contos reported on department staffing, graffiti cams, and July and August 2008 and 2009 code enforcement statistics . Discussion ensued. ~' Linda Hart asked about the process to take a dog off the dangerous dog list. Discussion ensued. VII. TOPICS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS j] Oprah Winfrey segment on the Colorado Humane Society animal shelter. VIII. ADJOURNMENT G There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:06 pm .
