Call to Order Sam Hakim Daniel Black Rebecca Laurie-Betancourt Jon Solomon , Library Manager a . The meeting was called to order at 5:45pm . 2. Roll Call 3. Approval of Minutes a. April 5 , 2017 Moved by Member Cheryl Wink Seconded by Member David Carroll TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF APRIL 5, 2017 AS WRITTEN . Motion MOTION CARRIED . 4. Review of Agenda 5. Scheduled Public Comment (presentation limited to 10 minutes) 6 . Unscheduled Public Comment (presentation limited to 5 minutes) •• New Business Page 1 of 3 a. Amplified Arts Cultural Arts Commission May 3 , 2017 Commission Member Carroll spoke to the Board regarding Amplified Arts , a non-profit organization composed of artists that have been displaced by the RiNo Art District. Carroll stated that the organization is seeking working/living space and is hoping that the Cultural Arts Commission can help with that in the City of Englewood . Discussion followed . Members were open to having the group attend the June meeting to further discuss the groups ideas about coming to Englewood . 8. Old Business a. Project Prioritization Methodology Subcommittee members presented its model for prioritizing requests and projects. City Council Member Olson encouraged commission members to look at the City's Comprehensive Plan and see where it can help the Cultural Arts Commission . Members would be sent a link to the Plan to review . Discussion followed on determining the value of a project. b. Strategic Plan Update Wink talked about the next steps for the two subcommittees. Wink suggested that the Prioritization Model Subcommittee meet next week to finalize the model using tonight's comments . The model will then be shared with the Strategic Plan subcommittee . Discussion followed on the South Broadway initiative and Council's proposal to use all of the money from the One Percent for the Arts for art . Solomon and Olson encouraged commission members to be involved in discussions . 9. Committee Reports a. MOA/COE Large Mural Project Pohl gave an update on the mural project. The mural will be painted the weekend of May 20th . 10. Upcoming Events a. Members reported on upcoming events . Students from Englewood 's Finest High School of Choice will be painting a mural at The People's Fair on June 3rd and 4th. 11. Staffs Choice • • • Page 2 of 3 • • • Cultural Arts Commission May 3, 2017 12. Commissioner's Choice a. The Cultural Arts Commission is scheduled to present to City Council at the June 12th Study Session. Olson updated commission members on the new Englewood Citizen magazine and the State of the City on Thursday, June 1st at 6pm. 13 . Adjournment a . The meeting was adjourned at 7 :16pm . Page 3 of 3
