the Art at the Shuttle Stops . Discussion followed . Stewart distributed information on
Mr. Peters website, www.airworksstudio.com, and encouraged commission
members to go online and view Mr. Peters artwork in addition to visit MOA 's exhibit
for further discussion at next month's meeting. Sack told the Commission that
shade is a big issue for the gardeners and whatever kind of structure is decided,
they need to be mindful of what is created.
Discussion turned to Art at the Shuttle Stops. Stewart gave some statistics on the
program, noting that it has been in place for approximately seven years and how
some art has never been replaced in addition to there currently being eight vacant
spaces for art. Discussion followed. Stewart discussed doing an invitation for art
with artists that they know rather than doing a call for entry, stating that it would be
the cheapest way to go.
VI. Old Business
Sack gave an update on the donated piece of artwork , Optimistic Attitude of Life. Sack
reported that the Library has possession of the artwork and has received proposals on
the costs to have the artwork framed. Commission members were told that it will cost
$300 to have the scroll cut from the fabric and have it framed under Plexiglas or $1,000
to have it preserved and placed in a shadow box. Sack told the Commission that he
wanted to bring the information to the Commission to see what the Commission wanted
to do for the next step. Commission members agreed that it needed to be hung and not
separated. Following discussion,
A motion was made by Commission Member Stewart and seconded by
Commission Member Reed that Optimistic Attitude to Life needs to be hung
as is and not put in a box because it would be inauthentic. All were in favor.
The motion passed.

Schnitzer and Wilson reported that ( $20,000 or $14,000) has been set aside for the

There was no update for Englewood Arts. Schnitzer asked how the Commission will
receive updates on Englewood Arts come July when Chairperson Bertoluzzi will no

give an update.
