Discussion returned to New Business. Bertoluzzi turned discussion over to Commission Member
Dulaney. Dulaney informed the Commission that due to family priorities, she has not been as
active with the Commission as she would have liked so she is resigning as Commission Member.
Dulaney went on to say that she would still like to remain active with the Commission so she and
Mary Lynn Baird will be sharing the role of Englewood Schools Liaison. Commission members
discussed Alternate Member Enger being appointed to Commission Member due to her
participation and attendance on the Commission.
Director Black explained to the Commission that an alternate member is created for this reason.
Black went on to explain that the appointment of Enger to Commission Member is a formal
process done by City Council. Black reported that City Council will be interviewing for Board
and Commission vacancies Monday evening; noting that applications were not taken for the
Cultural Arts Commission due to there not being any vacancies. City Council Liaison Wilson told
the Commission that Bertoluzzi will need to write a letter as Chairperson to the Commission that
it is his and the Board's recommendation that Alternate Member Enger be appointed as
Commission Member to fill the position created by Dulaney's resignation . Black told Bertoluzzi
that staff would prepare the letter for him to sign so that it is made available to City Council prior
to Monday night 's meeting .
Commission Member Bartunek spoke in regard to Commission Member Keene and hi s lack of
atte ndance . Black told the Commission that an attendance repot1 for the City's Boards and
Commissions is submitted to City Council twice a year so the y may be aware of the situation. In
regard to Keene , Black stated that there are two ways to address the situation. Black reported that
the infonnation can be forwarded to City Council where City Council can make a
recommendation whether the member should be replaced or City Council can ask the Chairperson
of the Board make the recommendation. Bl ack went on to say that the other optio n is to contact
the member to determine if there is still interest in se rving o n the Commission. The Chair vvo uld
then write a letter to City Council recorrunend in g that the position be filled or st ating that
circumstances ha ve changed and the Member \Nill start attending the meetings again. Wilson
re ported that it is her feeling that City Council would prefe r th at there is communication with the
member. Black stated that staff wou ld be happy to make contact vvith Mr. Keene . Black
reiterated to the Commission that Enger· s appointment and any action in regard to Keene· s
position would need to be done by Cit:1 Council in a fotmal proce ss. Commission members
agreed that a letter would be prepared for Bertoluzzi 's s ignatur e recommending the appointment
of Enger to Co mmission Member to fill the vacancy brought on by Dulaney's resignation: in
addition to a "heads-up" in regard to Commission ~Iember Keene ·s position.
In regard to Dul aney and Baird sharing the role of Englew oo d Schoo ls Liaison , Black asked

there was no update on the Art Shuttle.
Stewart told commission members that August 1st is being considered for Artabout Englewood;
noting that MOA has a performance scheduled that day. Discussion followed in regard to the
outstanding support from Community Development.
Bertoluzzi informed the Commission that Englewood Arts has decided to step back from the
Acoma Street property as a site for a Cultural Arts Center. Bertoluzzi explained that even though
there is still one year remaining on the agreement with EURA, the Trustees believe that they have
taken the process as far as it could go and that they should not pursue the property any longer.
Bertoluzzi stated that a letter has been sent to Alan White, Director of Community Development,
requesting the release of the agreement with EURA. Bertoluzzi noted that this does not mean
Englewood Arts is stepping back from the project; noting that there could be something more
feasible down the line. Discussion followed .
Black reported that there is no update for the Parks and Recreation Commission due to the
