CALL TO ORDER City of Englewood CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION Minutes of January 3, 2007 The regular monthly meeting of the City of Englewood Cultural Arts Commission was called to order at 5:47pm by Chairperson Be1ioluzzi at the City Council Conference Room at the Civic Center. Present: Absent: Also Present: Eric Bertoluzzi, Chairperson Janet Moore, Vice Chairperson Heather Bartunek, Commission Member Olga Wolosyn, City Council Liaison Kate Dulaney, Commission Member Amy Laugesen, Commission Member Donna Schnitzer, Commission Member Maggie Stewart, Commission Member Mary Lynn Baird, Englewood School District Liaison Michael Keene, Alternate Member Jen-ell Black, ex officio Gary Hultberg, Recreation Manager Tim Vacca, Museum of Outdoor Arts REVIEW OF AGENDA There were no changes to the agenda. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Bertoluzzi asked if there were any changes and/or corrections to the minutes of December 6, 2006. Bertoluzzi noted where Tim Vacca's name was misspelled. The minutes were approved as amended. IV. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS Deborah Howard was not present to discuss her request to use Hampden Hall for an art show. V. NEW BUSINESS There were no items for New Business with Ms. Howard not present. Bertoluzzi discussed Ms. Howard's request to use Hampden Hall for an art show. Recreation Manager Hultberg suggested that Ms. Howard contact Carol McGuigan to discuss renting Hampden Hall. Vice Chairperson Moore stated that there may be a timing issue depending on when Ms. Howard wants to rent Hamdpen Hall because of the Juried Art Show. Discussion followed regarding the Juried Art Show and Moore's concern in finding help to "man" the show. Bertoluzzi asked how many pieces were selected. Moore stated that she does not have a definite number until she determines where pieces can be placed due to space limitations in Hampden Hall. Moore explained that the judges had viewed more than 300 slides which was a little more than last year, and that more out-of-state ent1ies were received this year compared to last year. VI. OLD BUSINESS There were no items for Old Business. VII. COMMITTEE REPORTS Commission Member Bartunek reported that there will be an Art Shuttle Committee meeting sometime this month. Bertoluzzi asked Hultberg ifthere will be the Englewood Art Exhibit again this year. Hultberg replied yes, that it will follow the Juried Art Show and include a reception. VIII. UPCOMING EVENTS No further upcoming events were discussed . IX. DIRECTOR'S CHOICE There were no items for Director's Choice. X. COMMISSION MEMBERS' CHOICE Moore announced that Art Nie has had a fairly successful beginning and due to negotiations to lower the rent, will continue to stay open. Moore noted that some artists have left while new ones had been recruited. Moore discussed a media event for mid-January. XI. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:00pm. Deborah A.
