The Special meeting of the City of Englewood Cultural Arts Commission was called to order at 5:50pm by Vice Chairperson Tomasso at the City Council Conference Room at the Civic Center building. Present: Absent: Ray Tomasso , Vice Chairperson Kate Dulaney, Commission Member (arrived at 6:05pm) Donna Schnitzer, Commission Member Olga Wolosyn, City Council Liaison Jerrell Black, ex officio Eric Bertoluzzi , Chairperson Darrell Freeland, Commission Member Janet Moore, Commission Member Maggie Stewart, Commission Member Mary Lynn Baird, Englewood School District Liaison PUBLIC ART RECOMMENDATION Vice Chairperson Tomasso noted that due to lack of a quorum, tonight's special meeting would be only informational. Discussion was turned over to City Council Liaison Wolosyn . Wolosyn told those present that she and Commission Member Schnitzer had met with the Public Art Committee the previous night to discuss MOA ' s proposal for a piece of art in the round-a-bout. Wolosyn stated that the group was fa vorable to the piece but had a number of questions and concerns that needed to be answered before a recommendation can be made. Wolosyn distributed a list of "main points" that was made by the committee that would be included with tonight's minutes. Commission Member Schnitzer explained that she had spoken to Ms. Madden-Leitner prior to tonight's meeting and was able to get some additional information concerning the questions and concerns that came up by the Committee . Discussion ensued. Wolosyn stated that she would put together an informational sheet with the Committee 's questions and concerns in addition to the answers. Discussion followed regarding the newly formed Public Art Committee. Wolosyn noted that the Committee would meet again on January 61h for further discussion regarding the artwork. Wolosyn stated that Ms. Madden-Leitner agreed that a decision could be delayed until after the first of the year. Vice Chairperson Tomasso asked how much money is in the budget. Black replied that there is approximately $51 ,000 . Wolosyn added that the piece would cost $30 ,000 ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6: 11 pm. ~a -~• Deborah A. Severa, Recording Secretary •
