CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION
Minutes of August 2, 2006
The regular monthly meeting of the City of Englewood Cultural Arts Commission was called to order
at 5:45pm by Vice Chairperson Moore at the City Council Conference Room at the Civic Center.

II. REVIEW OF AGENDA
There were no changes to the agenda .
• III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Vice Chairperson Moore asked if there were any changes and/or corrections to the
minutes of July 5, 2006. There were none. The minutes were approved as presented.
IV. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS
There were no guests present.
V. NEW BUSINESS
There were no items for new business.
VI. OLD BUSINESS

Discussion turned to signage at City Center. Information from Assistant City Manager Michael
Flaherty in regard to preliminary pricing and schematic drawings for Hampden Hall signage was
distributed to commission members. Commission members decided to postpone discussion to next
month to allow time to review the information that had been distributed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Commission members discussed the upcoming Artabout Englewood event scheduled for Saturday,
August 51h . Commission Member Stewart discussed a formal thank you for Nancy Fenton, Harold Stitt
and LeighAnn Hoffhines . Wolosyn encouraged commission members to attend a City Council
meeting to do a formal recognition. Stewait noted that the city supp011 for the event has been fantastic .
Discussion followed.
There were no items for discussion for Englewood Arts.
Moore announced the grand opening for Englewood Canine Corral on Saturday, August 12th at •
9:00am. Moore told the Commission that other items of discussion at the July Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting included a presentation on the golf course redevelopment, an update on Pirates
Cove and discussion on Englewood Days .
VIII. UPCOMING EVENTS
There were no items for upcoming events.
IX . DIRECTOR'S CHOICE
Commission members were reminded of the Annual Board, Commission and Authority Appreciation
Night on Monday, August 26th at 6:00pm at Centennial Park/Brent Mayne field .
X. COMMISSION MEMBERS' CHOICE

Commission Member Laugesen spoke in regard to the upcoming Best of Colorado exhibit at Denver
International Airport; noting that over 370 entries had been received.
MOA Representative Rachel Miller discussed openings for MOA internships and stated that there are
openings if anyone knows of interested individuals. Discussion followed regarding upcoming MOA
exhibits.
