INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS There were no guests present. V. NEW BUSINESS VI. There were no items for new business . OLD BUSINESS Discussion turned to signage at City Center. Recreation Manager Hultberg first explained to commission members that there are three separate signage options for Hampden Hall, two of which the Cultural Arts Commission will need to make a decision on. Hultberg told the Commission that the first option is the entry signage for Hampden Hall . Commission members were told that there are two decisions for them to make in regard to the entry sign , wall mounted or hung by cables and then lettering, standard font that is used on the other signs in the building, or a more decorative lettering. Commission members were told that there is also the option of brushed aluminum , like that above MOA and the Courts, but that it is discouraged due to the lettering being on a painted surface and not wood. Discussion followed . It was suggested that following tonight's meeting commission members go down to take a look at the location for the sign and discuss it further at the October meeting which would also allow other commission members to also be involved in the decision . Bertoluzzi asked if the logo can be included on the sign. Hultberg replied that it could. Commission members were informed that the City will purchase and mount the entry signage for Hampden Hall. Hultberg reported that the City is also pursuing sign cabinets to be placed at the three building • entrances which would be used for the posting of Civic Center and Hampden Hall events. Vice Chairperson Moore asked if the cabinets would replace the kiosks. Hultberg replied they would not. Hultberg stated that due to the City also having a need for the cabinets and being responsible for posting the information , the City would be paying for them as soon as funding becomes available. In regard to signage on the exterior of the Civic Center building, Hultberg stated that the City is waiting to get costs from Suzette Emerson but based on cost estimates for aluminum lettering for the entry, cost per location would be around $500-$600 plus installation costs that could be much greater due to the need for a mechanical lift. Hultberg reported that there is not a budget for the exterior signage, so Englewood Arts, the Library and MOA would be responsible for the cost. Discussion followed. Bertoluzzi requested that the Commission wait until next month to further explore and discuss the issue . Commission member Bartunek asked that if the three interested parties agree to fund the exterior signage, would a committee with representatives from the three groups be created. Black explained that once the Commission makes a recommendation to Assistant City Manager Flaherty, those interested parties would meet with him to discuss details. Bartunek discussed contacting those commission members not present to inform them of tonight 's discussion related to signage so that a decision can be finalized at the October meeting. VII. COMMITTEE REPORTS Commission members discussed the August 5th Artabout Englewood event. Commission member • Schnitzer commented that things are looking bare and asked if there was anything organized in regard to a Call for Entries.
