HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-08-10 POPB MINUTES• • • POLICE OFFICERS PENSION BOARD MEETING August 10, 2017 The regular meeting of the Englewood Police Officers Pension Board was called to order by Chairperson Egri, at 2:37 p.m. in the Public Works Conference Room, Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway, Englewood, Colorado. Members Present: Members Absent: Others Present: A quorum was present. George Egri, Chairperson, Employee Representative Gary Condreay, Employee Representative (by phone) Kathleen Rinkel, Director of Finance and Administrative Services Steve Knoll, Employee Representative Carol Wescoat, Recording Secretary Vacancy, Council Appointee Joe Jefferson, Mayor (No Notice) None * * * * * The Board did not have a quorum for the February 9, 2017 meeting so the agenda items were carried forward to this meeting. Notification of City Council Appointee Position Vacancy The Board discussed that the City Council has not received any citizens' applications for the Board vacancy with the past two go-arounds of requests. The Board was encouraged to reach out to possible citizen candidates that might be interested in serving on the Board. Seating of Reelected Employee Member Gary Condreay, Retiree The Board congratulated Mr. Condreay on being reelected to the Police Officers Pension Board. Election of Chairperson/President MR. KNOLL MOVED TO NOMINATE GEORGE EGRI AS CHAIRPERSON. MS. RINKEL SECONDED . Condreay, Egri, Knoll, Rinkel None Jefferson Review of FPPA Plan Statements The Board reviewed the Fire and Police Pension Association (FPPA) statements. Mr. Knoll inquired about the difference of investment fees verses administration fees. Ms. Wescoat explained the administration fees includes issuing and processing the retiree payments, actuarial reports and overall administrative fees. Where the investment fees are typically fees passed on from the various investment choices of the FPPA pooled assets. Notification of Death of Walter Smith (9/1712016) Walter Smith, retired police officer, died on September 17, 2016. Mr. Smith was not survived by a spouse and there are no further benefits due after September 2016. Consideration of cancelling the November meeting making the next meeting February 2018 The Board agreed to cancel the November meeting unless there is an urgent matter requiring the Board's attention. The next meeting will be tentatively held on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Member's Choice No items were discussed The meeting adjourned at 2:50 p.m .
