POLICE PENSION BOARD MEETING July 14, 1994 A regular meeting of the Englewood Police Pension Board was called to order by Chairperson Norm Wood, at 1 :35 p.m. in Conference Room A of the City of Englewood City Hall, 3400 South Elati Street. Members Present : Members Absent : Others Present: Norm Wood, Chairperson James Phelps, Council Appointee Sheri Gulley, Mayor Frank Gryglewicz, Acting Director of Financial Services Rick Forbes, Employee Representative (arrived 1 :36 p .m .) Dave Miller, Employee Representative Dan Brotzman, Assistant City Attorney, Carol Wescoat, Recording Secretary A quorum was present. * * * * * Approval ofMinutes MAYOR GULLEY MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF APRIL 14, 1994. MR PHELPS SECONDED . Ayes : Nays : Absent: The motion carried . Wood, Phelps, Gulley, Gryglewicz None Miller, Forbes 1 :36 p.m . Rick Forbes arrived . * * * * * OLD BUSINESS Consideration of Recovery of20% Supplemental Disability Benefit for the Beneficiary of Grady Brackeen Chairperson Wood explained the circumstances relating to the discontinuance of the 20% Supplement Disability benefit to Mrs . Brackeen. Mr. DeWitt (no longer with the City) had been attempting to contact Mrs. Brackeen. Mr. Brotzman indicated that there had not been an opportunity to contact Mrs. Brackeen. Mr. Brotzman stated he will follow-up on the contact and have a response for the next board meeting. NEW BUSINESS Colorado Public Pension Conference Discussion relating to the benefits of attending the Colorado Public Pension Conference ensued . The consensus of the Board was that Mr. Gryglewicz, should register for the conference, regardless of what changes in Financial Services might staff occur. Issues of City Council Meeting, September 6, 1994 The Board reviewed the draft for City Council and discussed the issues. Minor changes grammatical changes were made to the draft . The Board agreed that Chairperson Wood, Mr. Gryglewicz, or Mr. Brotzman would present the issues to City Council MEMBERS CHOICE Discussion oflssues to Resolve Amounts of Contribution for Approved Credit Service Chairperson Wood requested that in light of the City's current transitional period, the research necessary to determine contribution amount for Stanley, Knoll, Nessan, Vandermee, and Condreay be completed as soon as possible . Consideration of Spousal Benefits for Mrs. Clifford Rowland Chairperson Wood reviewed the letter to the surviving spouse of Clifford Rowland. Mr. Rowland died on July 2, 1994. MR. PHELPS MOVED FOR APPROVAL OF SPOUSAL BENEFIT TO MRS . DOROTHY ROWLAND OF $129.25 EFFECTIVE WITH THE AUGUST CHECK ISSUED JULY 31 , 1994 . MAYOR GULLEY SECONDED.
