POLICE PENSION BOARD MEETING
October 13, 1994
A regular meeting of the Englewood Police Pension Board was called to order by
Chairperson Norm Wood, at 1:38 p.m. in Conference Room A of the City ofEnglewood
City Hall, 3400 South Elati Street.

MR PHELPS MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR
MEETING OF JULY 14 , 1994, AND THE JOINT BOARD MEETING OF JULY 26,

Consideration of Recovery of 20% Supplemental Disability Benefit for the Beneficiary of
Grady Brackeen
Chairperson Wood explained the circumstances relating to the discontinuance of the 20%
Supplement Disability benefit to Mrs. Brackeen. Financial Services had received a phone

message from .Mrs. Brackeen Tague stating that she had remarried . Mrs. Brackeen Tague
had not responded to the correspondence requesting repayment of overpayment.
Mr. Brotzman reviewed the collections options. He recommended turning the matter over
to the State Collection Agency ..
Chairperson Wood suggested allowing thirty days response period prior to submitting the
matter to the State Collection Agency .

NOTIFICATION AND ALLOW THIRTY DAYS RESPONSE PERIOD BEFORE
BEGINNING COLLECTION PROCEEDINGS THROUGH THE STATE

Discussion followed related to the process of using the State Collection Agency.
Colorado Public Pension Conference
Mr. Gryglewicz presented a review of the Colorado Public Pension Conference,
September 12-13, 1994; in Keystone, Colorado. Concern was emphasized at the
conference regarding each individual's and the Board's fiduciary responsibility. He
recommended contacting Kenneth Phillips, a conference presenter to perform a special
presentation for all the Boards.

Mr. Leff was not present.
Consideration of Benefits for James Hinson
Chairperson Wood reviewed the request for pension benefits from James Hinson.

Discussion of request for proposals for actuarial services
Mr. Gryglewicz reviewed the need for a request of formal proposal for actuarial services.

Discussion of contribution reimbursement by Stanley. Nessan. Knoll. Vandermee. and Condreay
Discussion ensued relating to the reimbursement of contributions (including accumulated
interest at an assumed rate of seven and one-half percent.) The Board Members'
consensus was to send letters to the police officers requesting the reimbursement.
MEMBERS CHOICE
Chairperson Wood reminded the Board of the election during December for the expiring
term of Ralph "Rick" Forbes.
The Board agreed to delete Ken Leff from the agenda.
