FIREFIGHTERS PENSION BOARD MEETING
August 16, 2000
A special meeting of the Englewood Firefighters Pension Board was called to order by
Chairperson Ken Holland at 4:40 p.m. in the Administrative Services Conference Room
of the Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway.

MAYOR BURNS MOVED TO ACCEPT, AS PRESENTED, THE MINUTES OF THE
REGULAR PENSION BOARD MEETING OF WLY 13, 2000. MR. KASSON

Mr. Kasson requested that the agenda items taken out of order to pennit lengthier
discussion regarding the consideration of benefit increase.
NEW BUSINESS
Review of FPPA Volunteer and Firefighters Plan Quarterly Statement.
Mr. Grygl ewicz reviewed the FPP A Statements for the Volunteer and Paid Firefighters
accounts.
Consideration of benefit request by beneficiary of Bruce Donald .
Bruce Donald, retired firefighter, died on July 16, 2000. Mr. Donald is survived by his
spouse, Rosalee Donald.
MR. KASSON MOVED TO APPROVE A MONTHLY BENEFIT OF $551.62 FOR
ROSALEE DONALD EFFECTIVE AS OF AUGUST 1, 2000 AND A ONE TIME
DEATH BENEFIT PAYMENT OF $500.00. MR. SEAY SECONDED .

Consideration of benefit study on January 2000 Firefighters Actuarial Report.
Each Board member commented on his proposed increase preference. The Board
discussed each type of benefit increase proposed in the study.
MAYOR BURNS MOVED TO APPROVE A BENEFIT INCREASE EFFECTIVE
JANUARY 1, 2001 OF $200 PER MONTH FOR FIREFIGHTERS AND $66 .67 PER
MONTH FOR SURVIVORS RETIRED PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 1999 PRESUMING
THE SURPLUS WILL REMAIN AT AN ACCEPT ABLE LEVEL. MR.
GRYGLEWICZ SECONDED.
