Telephone Poll
On June 21, 2000, the members of the Firefighters Pension Board were polled by the
Recording Secretary regarding approval of the following requests for Deferred Retirement
Option Plan (DROP):
Jay Seay, requested a DROP benefit retroactive to February 1, 1999. The City of Englewood
employed Mr. Seay as a firefighter on January 15, 1961. He has the required twenty years
of service credits and attained age 50 to qualify for retirement. He elected a Single Life
pension benefit as of February 1, 1999 is $3,771.04 per month. The amount to be
transferred to his DROP account for the 17 monthly retroactive pension benefits and five
percent (5%) of pensionable earnings employee contribution is $72,668 .86. The transfer
to the DROP account will be done on July 1, 2000.
Michael Ballinger, requested a DROP benefit retroactive to February 1, 1999. The City of
Englewood employed as a firefighter Mr. Ballinger on October 16, 1969. He has the
required twenty years of service credits and attained age 50 to qualify for retirement. He
elected a Single Life pension benefit as of February 1, 1999 is $2,425.92 per month. The
amount to be transferred to his DROP account for the 17 monthly retroactive pension
benefits and five percent (5%) of pensionable earnings employee contribution is
$47,519.07. The transfer to the DROP account will be done on July 1, 2000.
Ronnie McLain, requested a DROP benefit retroactive to February 1, 1999. The City of
Englewood employed as a firefighter Mr. McLain on October 1, 1974. He has the
required twenty years of service credits and attained age 50 to qualify for retirement. He
elected a 100% Joint and Survivor pension benefit as of February 1, 1999 is $1,986.59
per month. The amount to be transferred to his DROP account for the 17 monthly
retroactive pension benefits and five percent (5%) of pensionable earnings employee
contribution is $39 ,172.99. The transfer to the DROP account will be done on July 1,
2000.
Richard Edison, requested a DROP benefit retroactive to February 1, 2000 . The City of
Englewood employed as a firefighter Mr. Edison on July 3, 197 5. He has the required
twenty years of service credits and attained age 50 to qualify for retirement. He elected a
100% Joint and Survivor pension benefit as of February 1, 2000 is $2060.82 per month.
The amount to be transferred to his DROP account for the five monthly retroactive
pension benefits and five percent (5%) of pensionable earnings employee contribution is
$11,431.97. The transfer to the DROP account will be done on July 1, 2000 .
Brian Bruns, requested a DROP benefit retroactive to February 1, 2000. The City of
Englewood employed as a firefighter Mr. Bruns on November 15, 1975. He has the
required twenty years of service credits and attained age 50 to qualify for retirement. He
elected a Single Life pension benefit as ofFebruary 1, 2000 is $3 ,261.21 per month . The
amount to be transferred to his DROP account for the five monthly retroactive pension
benefits and five percent (5 %) of pensionable earnings employee contribution is
$17,943 .88. The transfer to the DROP account will be done on July 1, 2000.
