A regular meeting of the Englewood Firefighters Pension Board was called to order by
Chairperson Jay Seay at 4:00 p.m. in the Public Works Conference Room of the Englewood
Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway.

MR. GRYGLEWICZ MOVED TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE PENSION BOARD
MEETING OF FEBRUARY 9, 2006. MR. HUNT SECONDED.

NEW BUSINESS
Review ofFPPA Volunteer and Firefighters Plan Statements
Mr. Gryglewicz reviewed the FPP A quarterly statements .
Review of January l, 2006 Firefighters Actuarial Report.
Mr. Gryglewicz reviewed the January 1, 2006 Firefighters Actuarial Report. The 2007 and
2008 total required contribution is $76 ,935 each year . The report did not indicate the plan
has sufficient funding to permit a benefit increase for retirees.
Mr. Lockwood arrive at 4: 10 p.m.
The Board reviewed the increase of FPP A administration fees in 2005 from one-third to one-
half of a percent. Mr. Gryglewicz informed the Board of the Police Officers Pension Board
decision to research fee increase and possible changes to restrict future increases.
Chairperson Seay inquired about the situation with the pool of state funds that is earmarked
for assisting local plans with funding . The funds are available to plans that have a mill levy
amount that is dedicated to fund police or fire plans. Discussion ensued regarding the ability
of the City to change the mill levy funding or the possibility of pursuing state statute
amendment allowing distribution of funds to the plan through the Colorado Public Plan
Coalition. Staff will research the options available.

Consideration of Benefit for Andrea Newport Survivor of Volunteer Firefighter Paul
Newport.
Paul Newport, retired volunteer firefighter , died April 9, 2006 . Mr. Newport is survived by
his spouse Andrea Newport.
MR. GRYGLEWICZ MOVED TO APPROVED A $225 SURVIVOR MONTHLY
BENEFIT FOR ANDREA NEWPORT BEGINNING MAY 1, 2006 AND A ONE-TIME
FUNERAL BENEFIT OF $100. MR. HUNT SECONDED.

The Board was reminded of the Board , Commission and Authority Appreciation Night,
Monday , August 28, 2006 at Centennial Park at 6:00 p.m.
Mayor Wolosyn commented that she will be unable to attend and encouraged the other board
members to enjoy the celebration .
Notification of December Board Member Election .
Ms. Wescoat said that Richard Petau 's term expires December 31, 2006 and an election will
be done prior to that date to fill the vacancy .

The Board agreed unless there were matters that required attention, there would be no
meeting in November.
