of these hours at $17, 500 worth of service to the Library.

Next for discussion was the proposed resolution to go before City Council raising Library fines from 10
cents per day to 20 cents . The maximum fine per item would go from $2.00 to $5 .00 per item. This is a
move prompted by the City's tight budget. It was felt that this would be one way to increase revenues.
There was discussion about the Food For Fines program. The Board felt that it would be best to change
the number of weeks of this popular program to 2 from 4 and in addition offer the Food For Fines 2 times
during the year ; mid year and during the December holiday season.
03 -05 Motion: That the Library increase the fines for all overdue items to 20 cents per day.

to process the formal complaint. Once that formal complaint has been received staff will review the video,
pass along their recommendation to the Board . The Board will appoint a subcommittee to the review for
consideration and pass their recommendation on to the entire Board for a final decision.
It is hoped that the Ricochet poles will "light up" in the next few weeks so that the Bookmobile will come
online using laptop computers.
The Englewood School District Annual Art Show will be in the Library during the month of March. The

Ms . Cullinan commented that she had been interested to read about the Battle of the Books program and
said she felt that Board members should be present at such important events. Discussion followed about
how to get the word about these events to the Board so they could arrange for at least one Board member
to attend these events . It was felt that this would be a good way to support staff and Library programs.
One suggestion was to add a list of these events to the Agenda so Board Members could sign up to
attend .
