Sherman-Englewood, CO 80110 BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING Wednesday, December 9, 1981 MINUTES Bush, Coleman, Gasson, Holthaus, Kaufman, Ma xwell, Neal, Owens, Pendleton, Robohm Mausolf Haviland, Simpson Gordon Close, dba/Englewood; Susan Powers, Director of Community Development, City of Englewood Board Chairman Holthaus called the regular meeting to order at 12:10 P.M. Mr. Robohm moved that the Minutes of the regular meeting of November 18, 1981 be ap- proved as distributed. Seconded by Mrs. Owens. The motion was carried by a voice vote. The bills for payment were presented to the Board. Mr. Kaufman moved that all bills be paid as presented. Seconded by Mr. Pendleton. The motion was carried by a voice vote. Mrs. Holthaus suggested that Mr. Haviland continue attending the dba/Englewood meetings. Mr. Coleman proposed that should Mr. Haviland be unable to attend that he call someone else. Mr. Close stated that everyone would be more than welcome to attend their board meetings. It was noted that the closing date for the property located at 3470 South Broadway will be December 15, 1981 at 3:00 in the offices of Mr. Steve Wright located at 633 17th, Suite 2300, Denver, CO. Mr. Coleman and Mrs. Holthaus will represent the Englewood Down- town Development Authority at the closing. It was noted that a fire on November 15, 1981 destroyed the building at 3455 South Broad- way. The tenants of the building were Mueller's Discount Western Wear and the !:econd Time Store, a thrift shop operated by the Junior League of Denver. The Downtown Develop- ment Plan shows this location as a pedestrian walk-through from Broadway to Acoma Street. Preliminary talks are scheduled with the owner; it was also noted that other parties have spoken with the owner concerning the sale of this land. Memos have been prepared for the City Council regarding the future roles and responsi- bilities of the Urban Renewal Authority and the Englewood Downtown Development Authority. After this work session on December 9, 1981 these roles should be better defined. The Board expressed concern over the attendance record of Ken Mausolf. It was suggested that Mrs. Bolthaus contact him and inquire as to the reasons for recent absences. The dba/Englewood has formed a welcoming committee to greet all new businesses. Those persons who will be greeting the new businesses will be Susan Powers, Mike Haviland and one board member from the dba/Englewood. The final hearing on the sign code to Planning and Zoning will be January 19, 1982. There being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 1:20 P.M. Respectfully submitted,
