January 9, 1985

Board Members Present: Coleman, Green, Holthaus, Kaufman, Oswald, Owens,
Pendleton
Board Members Absent: Mausolf, Neal, Tomooka
Staff Present: P. Dietrich
The regular meeting of the Englewood novmtown Development Authority Board of
Directors was called to order by Chairman Rill Pendleton at 12:05 ~~ on
January 9, 19~5.
The minutes from theDecember 12, 1984 regular meeting were presented for
approval. Ms. Owens moved, seconded by Mr. Kaufman, to approve the minutes
from the previous meeting. the motion was passed unanimously by voice vote.
The Treasurer's Report was presented by Pan Green. Mr. Kaufman moved, seconded
by Mrs. Holthaus, to accept the Treasurer's Report as presented. Mr. Green
noted that the year-to-date expenditures are below the projected 1984 budget.
The motion was passed unanimously by voice vote. Ms. Dietrich noted that
the City Council commended the EDDA on the detailed budget for 1Q85 that
was submitted for their acceptance.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Broadwav Public Imorovements -Proposed Design -Roecker Design Group was not
prepared to present the proposed design for public improvements on South
Broadway. This has been rescheduled for February 13, 1985.
Finance Subcommittee -Mr. ¥aufman presented a preliminary report from the
first meeting of the Finance Subcommittee. Several areas are being explored
as to opportunities for investment. Of prime interest and consi~eration are
the legal ramifications that are spelled out by law for municipalities and
developnent authorities. Information regarding this was given to the sub-
committee from the EDDA attorney. Another consideration was to wait a couple
of months until the Trolley Square development project has progressed further.
DIRECTOR'S F~EORT
Marketing Study -Further refinement of responsibilities and time commitments
has been established. Swedish Medical Center and EDDA will cosponsor this
study to ascertain economic opportunities and feasibility for the area that
is east of Broadway.
the engleword -Another issue of the engleword was published and distributed
in December. An internal mailing list for this newsletter has been estab-
lished and will be added to as necessary.

RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
Slide Show Presentations -A tentative schedule of slide show presentations
of the downtown redevelopment project and related activities has been set
up for Thursday at noon on the EDDA Office. It was requested that this
presentation be given to the hig h school and to the junior high school
classes in Englewood, and also to the service g roups in the area.
Changes on South Broadway -Ms. Dietrich pointed out that there have
been eight chang es in the facades in the 3400 block of South Rroadway on
the east side. Additional changes also were noted in the 3300 block, also
on the east side.
Other -United Cable Television, Channel 26, will present a show on ENglewood
on January 15, 22, 29, and February 5 at 8 :00 PM.
Other -It was noted that the new Trolley Square parking facilities will have
400 spaces, an increase of 100 spaces over the public parking that was pre-
viously available.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:53 PM.
