HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-06-01 EWB MINUTESENGWVOOD WATER BOARD MEETilm = JUNE l, 1955 Members Present: Allen, Cu shing , Robohrn , Weigand, Ol iner, Milligan, Frantz, Rudd Members Absents None others Present: Water Attorney, Shivers; Distribution Superintendent, McNuttJ Counc ilman, McCabe The meeting was called to order by Chairman Allen at 8:15 Po Mo *** Mr. Shivers introduced, for discussion~ the possible necessity, at the present time , to endeavor to secure the 2.25 Co Fo So Epperson Ditch water owned by The Green Valley Ditch Co~ny, date of decree being May l, 18600 Attar discussion, Milligan, moved; Weigand, seconded, that the Water Board recommend to Council that they authorize the City Attorney to negotiate with The Green Valley-Ditch Company for · the purchase of The Epperson Ditch water of 2o25 Co F. So dated May 1, 1860, with reference to the option authorized at the meeting or the City Council, February 15, 1949 o Roll Call& Ayes; Allen, Cushing, Robohm, Weigand, Oliner, Milligan, Frantz, Rudd Nays; None Absent; None *** A general discussion was held regarding a possible location for storage of transmountain water, when obtained, preferably close to the Platte Rivero Ona site on Ibtch Creek was the main topic or discussion but it was decided that a more thoroue;h survey or the area should be made before it should be considered seriouszyo The matter was referred to Jlro Rudd and Mro Babcock for further study9 *** The Boreas Pass project was introduced for discussiono It wa~ brought out that with the large investment already involved in the project thus far, all possible should be done to show improvement toward retaining all the water run-off availableo A measur- ing device has been obtained and is to be installed imme d iately by the City crew 0 · Mr. Shivers was asked to join Mro. Babcock 1n contacting the Denver Water Board before June 15, 195S, relative to the possibility of storing Boreas Pass water in Cheeseman Dam later this year with an agreement that if it were not used by Englewood during t.he Summer, it would revert to Denvero Reearding ditch work and other phases of the Boreas Pass development: Cushing, moved; Milligan, seconded, that The Water Board recommend to Council that steps be ta.ken imnediately to enter into contract to finish the Boreas Pass develop- ment for completion this Swmnero Roll Calls AyeSJ Allen, Cushing, Robohm, Weigam, Oliner, Milligan, Frantz, Rudd NaySJ None.
