The meeting was opened with discussion and disposition of the following problems brought to the attention of the Board by Mro McNutt, Distribution Superintendento The attention of the Board was brought to the increasing number .t complaints of low water pressure in the general vicinity of the Woodman Subdivision or between Broadw~ and Clarkson and Layton Avenue and Belleview Avenue. It was pointed out that all water mains in the area were laid according to citq specifications and a discussion followed regarding the possible necessity of a booster pump station to be located in the areao The matter was referred to Mr. Rudd for further study and investigation. It was pointed out that, even though a metered standb~ service from the Denver Water Board has existed since April l, 1952, the City of Englewood has never taken advantage of same and a sizable bill for the minimum charge is paid monthly o Motion, Mr. OlinerJ seconded, Mr. Allen, that the Denver mtered standby service be discontinued immediatelyo Roll 001 t All Ay es o Mr. Rudd was directed to contact the Denver water Board and have Standby service discontinued as soon as possible. The necessity, was pointed out, for the installation of a dr;y feed mchine at the intake point of the reservoir for adding copper sulphate to the water and also the installation of a dry teed machine at the filter plant for adding activated . carbono Mr. Rea, Consulting Engineer 1 advised the Board that these installations were included in the proposed water developm mnt program and w.l.ll be taken care of in due courseo Mr o Allen made a brief report on the development of the teat wells along Dry Creeko He stated that, at this point, the project could not be coo.- aidered aucce1stul in that no producing test wells had been drilledo There was general discussion concerning a producing well located in the 46oo block of South Delaware and another located in the 4.SOO block of South Huron, the owners of which have expressed a desire tor the City to have tested for flow and capacity to determine whether or not they might be worth while to develop for a source of city water. This mtter was referred jointly to Mro Rudd and Mr. Mcnutt for further investigation with the ownerso . Jines• report from an engineering standpoint and recommended that a pipe line be installed with ten to twentq year lif'e. After cpnsiderable discussion by all. members of the board, Mro Rea was directed by Chairman, f·l'tro Allen, to figure tho type and cost of pip:fng necessary to deliver ten second feet of waterfrom the Coloxado Central Power Coo wells to the point of intake on the Platte River with f'our and one half second feet of water to origir.ate at the Paver Company wells, three second feet from the MacBroom Ditch m1d the ditfermce of two and one half' sec:md feet to be developed from other available sources in the vicinityo Mro Robobm reported that officials of the Ohio Oil Company, Hathaway Instrument Company and the Hamilton Watch company had advised him of their intention to locate plants at points South of the Englewood City Limits and expressed a desire to be served with Englewood qtero They wuld like · to lmow it and when they might expect this serviceo After some diacussion by the Board, 1-lro Robohm as advised that this question should not be answered directly inasmuch a.s it nrJ:ght be from one to ten years betore an ample supply of water is avail• able for general service outside the City Limits depending upon the rapidity of the development of Englewood water sourceso A generlil. discussion was held regarding the proposed Dempeey=Glarida Addition, to lie Southwest of the City of Englewood and West of the Plattil River, which developers were in attendance at an earlier meeting and expressed a desire to be served by Englewood water in exchange for certain Nevada Ditch Rights now held by j;hemo Mr. Allen, Qiairman, stated that he w:>uld endeavor to contact these interested parties for .further clarifics:tJ.on of their plans and the matter wo1.~ld again · be brought up at the next meeting of the Water Boardo A memorandum to the Englewood City Council as read wherein the Englewood Planning C:> mission recommended that the Lininger Tract, 2 blocks West of Huron and h blocks South of Belleview Avenue be annexed to the City of F.ngle- wood upon the approval of the water Boardo Motion, Doctor MllllganJ seconded, Mr. Robohm, that the Water Boa.rd recommend to Council that the proposed Lininger annexation be turned down at this time due to tmcertainty of available water suppqo Roll call.t All Ayes o Mro Shivers, Attorney 1 made a brief report on bll8 progn:st in clearing the Petersburg Ditch right-of-wa)" and stated that it is now clec-.r except for a very few exceptions. Mr. Shivers asked authority from the Boa.rd to advise the remaining Petersburg Ditch.
