A general discussion was held regarding the current City policy of allouing n
water taps outside the city limitso It; was felt by the majority of the Board that
·l,;he City has already acquired uater or has p1•ospective nS'fl water development reason
ably assured suffic. ient to extend the lina of service to aorr.e point beyond the city
limitso It was pointed out by several Board member3~ who have made recent cont::'tcta
that apparentl.v neighboring citiew have definite plans t:.o serve some areas which
only logically should be served by '£he City of EngJ.ewoodo It was fe1t that the
Cit~,. of Englevtood 8 though it might be considered by soma as speculative8 should be
coll19 a little more aggressive in this matter e>f extending •vate1• service if for n
other reason ·!6han to protect certain areas for future annexationo The consensua of
opinion was that if The City of Ehgleuood. waits too long ln exte11ding water ser.rica»
either by serving outside tho city limits or. annexation!! eventually,, when there is a
greater surplus of water, there is l ~kel.v ·to b~ no ruarke·i; due to neighboring cities
having supplied the demanda
Moved» Robohm8 seconded9 Milligani> that The Englmwod Water Board
recommend to Council that t.'1e territory served by the City of' Englemood
Water De?artment be extended beyond the current city limits to serve
an area bounded by a li..rie beginning at a point at South Clarkson
Avenu~ and the South line of East Quin\ly Avenue along the South line
of East Quincy Avenue to the West line of University Boulevard; thence
South' alone the West line of University Boule\'n.rd to the North line of
Orchard Road; thence West along the North line of Orchard Road to the
East line of South Broad\'my; thence North alOl"'.g the Ea.st line of South

A letter from the Junior Chamber of Commerce to The Englewood Water Board was read"
It ~onta.ined their expression of desire to develop a plot of ground9 now owned by
The City of Englewood and located between tm Englewood Filter Plant and Bellsv-t...ew
Avenue 8 into a park and playground area at no expanse to ·ti1a Cityo
No action was taken on the ma.tterJ howevers approval was registered by
all members and it was decided no recommendation to Council was necessary
as the matter was to be brought to t.he attention of that body at their
next meetingo
