I Mro Koelbel stated that the project would probably not require more than twenty-five water
taps throughouto
The discussion which followed brought out that the project would probably be developed over
such a long period of ti.!1¥9 that the taps could be secured from the Southeast EnRlewood Water
District allotment previously authorized for the District which allotment should not be in-
creased until such t:i.IJE as a high level storage reservoir is completed by the District with-
in the areao
After considerable discussion,
Rob ohm moved,
Purcell, seconded, That the Englewocxl Water Advisory Board recommend to Council that,
upon their receipt of a formal request, accompanied by a map, from
The Southeast Englewood Water District~ for annexation of the
following described land to that District, same be approved, allow-
ing no additional water taps beyond those now authorized for the
District; and , that the Red Lire be extendec to include this area
together with arry additional area deemed advisableo.

A general discussion was held relative to the water and sawer rate study recently submitted
by Consultant, Jo So Sawvelo
It was generally felt, by members of the Board, that action should not be taken at this
time relative to a possible rate increaseo
The Water Advisory Bo ard was a dvised that there have been discussions between the two
Cities relative t o the p ossibility of Englewood Sewage Disposal Service to the Town of

Dear Mro Babcock:
Jum 6, 1957
Perhaps you will remember our conversati ons regarding the
making available of water to the Northwest corner of South Santa Fe
=3=
and Union road by requesting a tap to the water line of the Valley
water Districtp
We talked about this at some length a month ago and your
suggestion at the time was to make a formal request to the Valley
Water District and the City of Englewood to obtain their approvalo
The Valley Water District has agreed to a tap and they
were at first of the opinion that a request to the City of Englewood
should come . from themo Haaever, due to other pressing business
matters they have again put the responsibility for the City of
Englewood's approval back into our handso
Therefore, I request approval from the City of Englewood
to tap the water line of the Valley Water District at Union Road
and Santa Fe o Provision for suc_h a tap has been provided in the
line at this pointo It is the intention of the o.mers of the sub-
ject land to extend a l:im to the North and provide service for six
·user tapso The exact location and size of this line will, of ccYrse,
be subje_qt to the requirements of the City of Englewoodo
I would appreciate your forwarding the request to the
proper officials and would also appreciate your correspondence at
your earliest convenienceo

Attention: . Ur o George Ao \'Tester
Gentlemen:
Reference is ma.de to your letter of June 6» 1957, relative to a request
to tap ·the water line of the Valley Water District at Union Road and South Santa Fe
Driveo
In anticipation of such a reqliest, I took the matter of taps outside the
City of Englewood up with the Water Advisory Board at their regular meeting on 'May
29tho There was not an official quorum at this meeting; however, .it was the una.n~
:i.inous opinion of those present that the City should adhere to its regulations re-
lative to serving water outside the Cityo
Thus, in your case, it would appear that the only way the area in question
could "be served would be by either annexing to the existing Valley Water District or
forming a separate district, either of which would receive consideration from the
Water Advisory Board, subject to the approval of the Valley Water Districto
Another attempt at a Water Advisory Board meeting on June 5th also resulted
in the absence of a quorumo However, since now we have a formal written request11 the
matter will, no doubt, be taken up at the next regular meeting on J~ 24th at which
time a formal reply will be recommendedo
I am enclosing, herewith, a copy o:f that tart of the Ordinance relative to
service outside City Limits (Section B)o From this it would appear that your area
~---· · -woUld only come under either paragraph J=C or Paragraph 3-Do
