ENGLE\'lOOD WATER ADVISCRY BOARD MEETING .. JANUARY 15, 1958
The neeting was called to order by Chairman Frantz at 8:00 Po Mo

Mro Rudd, Ci'l:\r Manager, reported that he is negotiating with tm Department of Public
Works in Denver ~garding the existing sewer irain in the northerly Scenic View area;
also• that ha is negotiating with Valley Sanitation District as to temporary use or
their sewer main f'rau approx:itrately West Dartmouth Avenue to the City•s disposal plant'>
Mro Rudd reported further, that the Valley Developmmt Company ha.a offered to the City
two shares of Nevada Ditch stock and that such shares complete the prior arrangen:ents in
1n this matter with the Valley Development Compa.nyo
Mr. Scott, ll..ayar, made brief reports relative to tre follcwing subjects:
lo Tl"a t there are no particular new developments regarding possible Englewood
sewage disposal service for Littletono .
2o That Sheridan Officials have indicated that th~ desire to pursue negotiations
for pcssibly acquiring Englewocxi water and sewage disposal servicea
The Board agreed tl'at Mayor Scott should advise Sheridan Officials to appear
at the next meeting of' the \Vat.er Advisory Board to make a propooal, if possibleo
3o That a meeting is planned by members of the Tri-County Trust for February 8, 19580
4o Tm t there have been no recent developments relative to water service for
General Iron U orks 11
5. That all members of the Water Advisory Board are invited to attend an :informal
nseting of the City Council to be held at 8:00 Po M,,, January 27, 1958, far the
purpcee of receiving the seconi half ar a special lfater report by Mr. Dale Holben,
Auditor, the first half ar which was presented on November 12, 19570
Mro Frantz, Chairman, advised t!e Boa.rd that there has been sone recent inquiries as to the
poBSibility of annexing additional area to the South-F.ast ~lewood Water District, said
area looated south ani east of the present. districto
After discussion, it was agreed that befare i'urther enlargensnt of any Englewocxi supplied
water district is allORed, a restudy of availability of water, 1n relation to our present
commitments ard anticipated future taps, be nade by the Utilities Commissionero
!fro Babcock, Utilities . Commissiomr, was asked to compmte the restudy as soon as possible

Mr. Babcock, Utilities Commissioner, stated that he felt some policy should be set relative
to relocation of curb stops and service stop boxes along with meter pits and meters along
both sides of South Broadway fran Quincy Avenue to Bellev:iew Avenue 1n conne·ction with the
forthcaning State Hi@lway projecta

proposed booster pumping station, to be located near South Logan Street an:i East Belleview
Avenue, in Englewood, to serve the southeast section af the City, have been receivedo

Kreiling, seconded, That the Water Advisory Beard recomnend to City Council that
the City advertise for bids for construction of the proposed
new booster pumping station to be located near South Logan
Street and F.ast Belleview Avenue at the earliest possible

of the \'later Advisory Board, and Administrative Officials, regarding a study of present
water rates and proposed changeso A tabulation was presented, sho:dng the present Engl ew ood
and Denver rates, both inside and outside tm City, together with suggested revisions and
examples, by the committee, showing hOR the suggested rates would effect the various types
of users am develop a mere consistent set of rate scheduleso
After cons1derable discussion,
Brownewell moved,
Robohm, seconded, That tm Water Advisory Board recommend to City Council that
Paragraph 20, Section A, 0rdinance Noo 15, Series of 1956,
be amended by adding the f ollaRing sentence immediately
following the first complete sentence in said paragraph:
ttThe rates for metered service shall be fixed by resolution
of the City Councilo 1•
