A letter dated May 71 1958 9 to The City of Englewood and signed by Mro Clarence Lo Bartholic,
Attorney, representing the Valley Water District and the Valley Sanitation District, was
received and reado
The letter requested that the proposed new Element:lr-J School, School Di.strict No., 7'5, to l ocate
on the northwest corner of the intersection of West Stan.ford Avenue and South Irving Straet,
be granted permission to connect to the Vallayi1ater District and Valley Sanitation District
:racilities, with no sewe:r taps to be charged to the presently approved allotment of the
Valley Sanitation District~ The letter did not request that the area, furthar ·described below p
be allowed to annex to the Valley Water or Sanitation Districts:
Be~inning at a point l)l.4p7 feet Sooth and 128902 feet F.ast of the NVl comer o:r the
NWt of Section 81 Township 5 South, Range 68 West, thence North along the Weat line
of lr\11ng Street 693 f'eetJ thence West 440 fee·&; thence South 693 feet; thence F.ast
440 feet to the point of beginning, Arapahoe County 1 Colorado!)
The request turther indicated that the school population of the school would be $00 students.,
In the discussion th t followed, it was determined that the area to embrace this school
should probably be annexed to both water and sanitation distriots 9 particularly since it 1s
adjacent to the areas just proposed for annexationo It was also felt that the City tap fee
should be based on the same formula used for the Centennial Elementary School located on
West Berry Street near South Irvingo (See Water Advisory Board Meet.ing Minutes of October 23,
1957 o) It is considered,, under this .formula that each twelve occupants of a school: constitutes
the equivalent of one sewer tap, and the school is nonnally in use 180 days of the year or
one-hail yearo Assuming the charge per tap to be $50000 1 and allowing far one-half year use,
the following computation could be used in arriving at the tap fee:
$00 + 12 = 42 X 1/2 : 21 Taps @ $50o00 F.ach : $ 11 050000 Total Tap Char~o
It was agreed also that, since a school is a community project, no sawer taps should be
charged against the pi."esent~ City a?prmred Valley Sanitation District allotmento
After some further discussion,
Scott moved,
Braimewell, seconded,, That the Water Advisory Board recanmand to City Council that
the proposed Elementary School, School District Noo 75, property
described abovep be allowed to annex to both the Valley Wat.er
District and the Valley Sanitation District, by Supplemental.
Agreements, no sewer ta?s to be .charged against the present
allotment ot the Valley Sanitation District with the follcming
provisions:
lo That the sewer tap roo, payable to the City of Jihglewood
by School District No'9 75, is based on one tap charee for
each twelve (12) occupants of the school at ~.S'OoOO per
tap, the total or which is to be multiplied by one-half
to correspond with the s1mi.la.r portion of a year which the
school is in session or in use, additional tap charges to
be negotiated upon any enlargement of the school using
the same formula but based upon the tap fee then 1n eff ecto
2. That the water service be meteredp

provisions of City Ordinarx:e Noo .3 1 series of 19540
