'Mro Babcock, Utilities Director, presented a report which set out a tentative proposal
for sewage disposal charges for the City of Sheridan, Colorado, as requested by the
Sheridan Sani ta.ti on District, provided that they· elect to connect to the Englewood treat-"'
ment plant facilitieso
After thorough study,. discussion and clarification of the various points of the report,
Robohm moved,
McCabe, seconded,, That tho Water and Sewer Board recommend to City Council that the
City of Englewood nia.ke the f ollmving offer to the City of Sheridan
for the treatment of their raw sewage delivered to the Imglewood
sewage treatment pil.ant:

to Englewood plant, for a period of nine yearso

$150000 per million gallons of influent nstered and delivered
to Englewood plant 1 for a period of six years o
After the end of' the period of one of the above alternates, the
chargG shall be at the rate of $95000 per million gallons, subject
to adjustment.., for later or additional taps, and also subject, at
any time, to oame percent of increase in treatment charge as may be
imposed upon other outside userso

:Mro Shivers, Special Counsel, reported that in examining title to the approximately 59o52
inches of Olsen-Bell Ditch Rights owned by Mro Tucker" and recently approved for purchase by
the Cicy of Enelewocxl, he detei·mingd that cons::.derable legal work must yet be done in
quieting title before sa.nw:i can be properly accepted by the City o Mr o Shivers stated that
Mro Tucker has been advised of this situation and that suits for this legal procedure must
oo brought at the expense of Mro Tuckero
A discussion was held on a report from Colorado Public Elcpenditure Council titled,
DENVER •s PENDING WAT1'.R RATE INCRFASE, with particular attention being given to the phase
ntsara1lel Water Devalopnent Programs of Suburban Areas 0 o
Mro Babcock, Utilities Director, presented each member of the Board a copy of a water supply
and demand graph which shows the comparisons of daily consumption and available water supply
covering each year .f."rom the beginning of the operation of the Englewood water system in 195'2
through 19580 Ur0 Babcock explained the graph thoroughly and some discussion was held re·
lative to sane o

arxi Sumner, the City must take soma affirmative action to justify a shCMing of diligence on

After sane discussion on the matter,
Scott moved,

McCabe, seconded, That the Chairman of the Englewood Water and Sewer Board be
instructed to write a letter to the Littleton City Council
apprising them of the position of the City of F..nglewood that
Littleton should plan to by'-pass the Englewood water intake with
the contemplated Lit.tleton sewage disposal plant affluent
at Littleton's expenseo

Tentative Proposal for Sewage Disposal Charges for the City of Sherida
That the City of Englewood make the f olloning offer to the City of
Sheridan for the treatment of their raw sewage delivered to the
Englewood sewage treatment plant:
Alternate Noo 1:
$125000 per million gallons of influent metered and delivered
to Englewood plant., for a period of nine yearso
Alternate Noo 2:
$140000 per million gallons of inf'l.uent metered and delivered
to Englewood plant, for a period of seven yearso
Alternate Noo 3:
$150000 per million gallons of influent metered and delivered
to Englewood plant, for a period of six yearso
After the end of the period of one of the above alternates, the charge
shall be at the rate of $95.,00 per t:tillion gallons, subject to adjust-
ment, for later or additional taps, and also subject., at any tine,
to sat:ie percent of increase in treatment charge as may be imposed upon
