Babcock,, Utilities Director, presented and explained a tabulation shm'fing the comparative costs or Littleton's proposed new sewllee by-pass line an each side of the South Platte Rivero This tabulation also showed the cost 0£ work done by the City of Englewood for existing facilities that can be used for the proposed line if located on the east side of the rivero All estimates relative to tl'e costs of the alternate routes have been sul:mitted to the City of Littletono After discussion, Mccabe moved, Robohm, seconded, That Special Counsel Shivers be delegated to draft a letter to be sent to the City of Littleton (Water and Sewer Committee), over the signature or the Chairman of the Englewood Water and Sewer Board, explaining the stand of the Englewood Water and Sewer Board relative to the proposed new Littleton sewage by...pass · line and maintenance of sameo Ayes: Nays: Brcnmewell, Frantz, McCabe, Robohm 1 Scott None Absent a Kreiling1 Purcell ltro Scott was excused from the meeting at this timeo --- JJr. Rudd, City llanager1 appeared to· discuss further with the Board the possibility of reoor.unend:tne action for procedure· in maldne use of the City-awned lands near the water filter plant as a recreation area, orie:Lnal.:cy purchased with bond money of the l'later Department and upon which a legal opinion was rendered by lir. After discussion, McCabe moved, Robohm, seconded, That, inasmuch as the Water and Sewer Board has determined, from investigation, that the land in question is not apparently to be used for the purpose for which it was purchased by the Water Department, it is hereby raconmended to City Council, under these circumst&l\Ces, that it's transfer out of the assets of the Water Department over to the park and recreational use be submitted to the vote of the tax paying electors at the earliest opportunity; the Water Department Bond Fund to be compensated for the cost of the land plus interest paid thereon as a part of the submission to the electors; and, that pending such election, the land be leased for use as recreational. area at an annual rental conmensurate with the interest paid on it•s cost and the cost itself o Ayes: Bromiewell, Frantz, McCabe, Robohm Nays: Mone Absent: Kreiling• Purcell, Scott --- -2- Mro eabcock explained the statue of the work program to date in con11action with the con°~ struction of a pumping station in Centennial Acres in order to pump the well water from the three wells owned by the City directly into the system of the Valley Water District in t imes of water shortage and/or overload at the filter planto Hs explained that the plans, spec· ifications and estimates are completed in accordance with contract with Dale Rea, Eng ineer, and that the project is ready' far advertisine for bidso Mro Babcock also stated that the proposed plans and specifications were completed in c onr nection with the proposed enlargement of Pump Noo 3 at the river pumping station and that a proposal for this work had been received f'ran Allis-Chalmers through tho Baker EJ.actric Compal'zy' of Denvero Inasmuch as this work involves an interchange of equipment with the Centennial wells pumping station; and~ inasmuch as it also involves existing Allis~..ctialme rs equipment. Mr. Babcock reconmsnded to the Board that this proposal in the a.mount of $10 1 493022 be accepted which includes $3,240.85 far work at the new Centennial pumping station and $7 1 2$2.37 far work at the river pumping stationo After discussion, Brownewell moved, 'McCabe, seconded• That the Water and Sewer Board recommend to City Cruncil that the City advertise for bids !or Centennial wells pumping station; and, that tb3 informal quotation, submitted by Allis-Ghalmers - Baker Electric Compaey, for the revision of pumps at the river pumping station and the Centennial wells pumping station pumps and motors, in the amount of $101 493022, be approvedo Ayes: Brownewell, Frantz, McCabe, Robohm, Nays: None Absent: Kreilinr,1 Purcell, Scott --- A short discussion was held rer,arding the sewage treatment charges and tap charges to be collected from the Sheridan Sanitation District No11 2o Mro Babooclc presented a tabulation or such proposed charges based upon an assumed schedule or connections {see attached tabulation sheet) 9 This schedule was prepared along the lines as requested by Yr. EJ..'d.ns and Mro Banes representing the Sheridan Sanitatioo District Noo 2 at a recent meeting with Mro Rudd and Mr. Babcocko No action was considered necessary at this tine inasmuch as representatives of the Sheridan Sanitation District Noa 2 has requested a mseting with the Englewood ''later and Sewer Board at their next regular meetingo It was recommended• haweverp that the Special Counsel far the Water and Sewer Board and the attorney far the Sanitation District mutually endeavor to draw up a preliminary draft or a contract prior to the proposed joint sessiono There beinc no further business to com;, before the Englswood Water and Sewer Doard, tho meeting was adjourned at 9: 10 Po ?.lo ~ A~-z:: A Jo n Do c{u.r.
