to discuss the possibility of securing Englewood sewer service for a 380 acre area l ocated
in portions of Section 17 and 208 T 5 s~ R 67 WJP lying ju.st east of South Holly Street and
on both sides of East Orchard Road 9 known as Greenwood Hills Subdivisiono
The gentlemen explained that their proposal Yould j_nvolve the formation of a new district
to be kn.01¥n as the Greenwood Hills Sanitation District, and that origina.lJ.y that district
would contrac·I.', vi.th ·t.he existing South Arapahoe Sanitation District, as well as with the
City of Englewood, for sewer service through the existing South Arapahoe Sanitation District
facilitieso It was indicated on plans presented that a lift station would ba necessary and
would be provided~ along with trunk lines which would be designed to handle an a.rea con~"'
siderably larger than the proposed district to alldw for futiU'e growth in the general areao
The possibility of annexation of the proposed area to the e..~isting South Arapahoe Sanitation
District or of merging the two districts at a later date was disc ussedo
The Board l'laS advised that a water district was being formed , the sou.~ce of water to be
deep wells which have already proved successfulo ·
In order for the developers to obtain building permits 1'rom the County Building Departm ent,
Mro Carlisle explained that a lett.er indicating possible sewer service must be produced
and asked the Board if such a letter could be written at this timeo
After considerable discussion9 it, was the consensus of the Board that favorable considerati on
would be given the proposal8 but that a formal request9 in wri·!;ing from the proper offici als

Dear Mro Frantz:
I have been directed .to write to you concerning the within matter by the
Board of Directors of the Southeast Englevrood Wat0r Boa.rd after considera=
tion of the same by the Board at. its meet, ing of June 2, l96oo
On March 10, 1960 our Board acted f avorab).y upon the appl ication to include
the following described lands, comprising eighty acres, within the Southeast
Englewood Water District9 subject to obt.aining vn-itten consent from the City
of Englewood to such inclusion;
Si NEt Section 24~ To"Rllship 5 South, Range 68 Weste

panyo
~ NEi Section 24b Tolillship S South, Range 68 West,
of the 6th Po Mo owned by Gladys Emma Davidson, Exe=
cutrix of the estate of Wo Do Smith, deceasedo
Your Board took action on March 14, 1960, on our request for inclusion of
these parcels and denied the inclusiono
We understand that Jo Glezm Donaldson, representing certain of the property
owners involved in subject application, intends to request reconsiderat.ion
of your denial action and to ask !or an opportunity to appear before your
Board to discuss the sameo
For the following reasons our Board feels that this land should be included
within the District:
lo It is a logical contiguous extension of the District which
would square out the District boundarieso
2o The location of the existing District water mains will per=
mit the servicing of this land without engineering di.ffi~
cul ties,,
.30 The Board is informed that the owners of these parcels are
'Willing to submit to a tap restriction for the next two or
, -•
three years, thus curt.ailing development of this land con=·
sistant tdth expansion of the city filter and storage faci=
lities and the District high water storage reservoir expan=
sion progra.mo
In consideration of this matter our Board would be pleased if you could out., ..
line your present and future policy in relation to expansion of our District.!>
and you may be assured of our full cooperation in reswet to future inclusionso

Mro Donaldson was present and stated that his clients would be most. favorable to the
inclusion with an agreement for a restricted number of -taps for a period which would
allow the City o! Englewood time to acquire the additio~.al water and treatment facilities
necessary to bring about .full expansion ar.td development, of the 160 acres invol vedo
He stated further that approximately 50 1re:l;er taps would be ample in 196oo
Mro Donaldson further stated that it seemed the area should be given favorable consideration
inasmuch as it is adjacent to the existing South-East Englewood Water District and that
-water mains are available a·c the adjoining lineo
After some further discussion:> Mro Dorµildson was excused from the meetingo
For pUl'poses of information to the Board and also in connection with the above r eque st and
discussion, Mro Babcock, Utilities Director$ at this time~ presented a schematic drawing
which shows the source-of the total decreed or otherwise o-nned Englewood water supply
in million gallons per de;ro It shoT1s further the storageD filtering and pumping system
used to receive the maximum distr~bution of the treated water and points out~ quite clearly»
that during peak pumping periods or under adverse conditions~ the available water supply ·
and filtering capacity does not amply exceed the maximum demand to 'Which the City is
presently committedo
After much discussion, Tlhich included a report by Mro Shivers, Consultant-relative to
the current status of possible trans-mountain water transmission,
Braun moved,
McCabe, seconded, That the request., under date of June 29.!) 196o, from the
